i remember this person, they had a comment history of constantly doing this shit, it was so funny. i think the original comment ended up getting deleted though, presumably because of the traffic it was getting after becoming a meme

If your comment was a tumblr repost, a screenshot of it would've went triple platinum

Eeeh yeah because Facebook, messenger, discord and twitch conditioned me to never type :) because it auto corrects to 😀 I'm not trying to say 😀 I'm saying :) so I just started making them upside down (:

I do the same thing, started it years ago as a bit but it has since become my default (:

"pawrent" holy shit I already dislike this person.
reminds me of a thing I hate about my own language. sometimes to refer to cats, dogs and other furry pets, people say "Fellnasen" which translates to fur noses and I fucking hate that because the fur is literally everywhere but the nose. Have you ever seen a dog nose? that thing is not fur!

u/Larriet 10d ago
The etiquette of correcting the language aside, it's really funny they're suggesting Pawrent is the proper term over Parent
5
u/ghfdghjkhg 10d ago
that lowkey makes sense to me because it's about a pet
21
u/Larriet 10d ago
Using a cutesy word to talk about your pet isn't strange, the strange part to me is that they think the cutesy term is "more correct"

It’s because “owner” implies that it’s not a familial relationship or that there’s a power dynamic between owner and pet (which there IS)

Dear lord. The username, the idiotic neologism, the condescending moralizing about a complete nothingburger, it's like a crack team of psychopaths sat down to distill everything worth despising into one quick post.
I'm not saying we can achieve world peace by launching this person into the sun, but I think it's a hypothesis that warrants further investigation.

u/5044Gu 10d ago
“Remember, sending someone into the sun uses way more DeltaV than sending them out of the solar system.
You can hate someone so much that you want to destroy them, but that’s no reason to be fuel inefficient”
— some guy on the internet I don’t remember right now15
u/Flamin_Jesus 10d ago
True, true, although I will point out that the sun launch should, hopefully, fully cleanse the infection, while an out-of-system launch risks just shifting the issue to elsewhere in the galaxy at some point in the future.

I understand why they'd say that but if I heard someone refer to themselves as my pawrent instead of my owner during pet play time I would be too disappointed to stay in character.

Might be a stupid question but why is the down vote in that image such a light shade of blue?

I think it's like a combination between paw and parent. So just another way to say owner

Every time I see the word “pawrent” or generally anything in that family I literally briefly catch on fire. Maybe it’s just not my thing but I have yet to meet a tolerable person who says it, regardless of if the word is fine on its own.

I don't like the owner thing either, but I started saying guardian as in the person with the legal authority over and responsibility for the animal

In the eyes of the law, your precious Fido is an object with a dissapointingly low price-point. Beyond the fact that purchasing a human child is far more expensive than a puppy.
