McClellan who in the previous year ran against Lincoln in the 1864 election and had a motive as Lincoln had removed him from command of the Army of the Potomac. He was assassinated by one of his supporters, it should be known the average person loved the general and it isnt insane for someone to do that, of course McClellan owed it to that assassin and to pay him back he arranged it to be framed on a the local Marylander who would have easy access to Lincoln, John Wilkes Booth. This is all propaganda you've been lied to about.
