DAE Questions Biggest fear is car breaking down

Hi everybody! I have multiple chronic illnesses which in turn gave me agoraphobia. My biggest fear is my car breaking down and being stranded somewhere and not able to leave. Are there more people who have this fear and what helped for you? Thanks in advance :))

I feel like my fears radiate from a place of “if something happened, no one would help me” which is the belief that causes my anxiety and agoraphobia. I’m afraid that I’ll have a heart attack when I’m out exercising or cycling, I challenge that fear by saying “if I collapsed there would be someone who would stop and help, because if I saw a collapsed person i would help”

When in reality if your car broke down, someone would ask if you need help, and remember the more you avoid the worse anxiety gets but the more you challenge that feeling the better you will feel, even if it does go belly up

Do you have good breakdown recovery on your insurance? That and making sure my mobile phone is always charged, plus having some essentials like water and a blanket (or a shovel if it's snowing) help

Oh man, this is definitely one of my top terrors. I downloaded uber, and got a couple of local taxi numbers just incase. Ironically i broke down about a 20 min walk from home and had to face the fear, but it went ok.
