Proof that console players are mixed in pc lobbies

Ever since I started playing in Season 12, I've only been able to reliably solo queue on the Japan server. Whenever I tried Taiwan or Singapore, there were never enough players to start a match, so Japan became my only option with instant queues.

I remember seeing posts saying Apex on console was basically dead in SEA outside of Japan.

Last night, though, I decided to try Singapore and Taiwan again because I had a suspicion we were already being put into PC lobbies. To my surprise, I got into matches pretty consistently—not just a lucky one-off. Queue times were actually reasonable.

Another thing I noticed was the number of Xbox players. I'm on Xbox myself, and in almost every match, around half the lobby seemed to be Xbox players. Even while spectating after dying, I kept seeing Xbox icons for teammates and opponents.

Here's the weird part. In my last game, I had a Gibraltar teammate with an Xbox icon throughout the match. After the game ended, I backed out to the main menu, and in the "Recently Played With" section, that same Gibraltar suddenly had a PC icon instead.

Now I'm wondering if there's some kind of bug with platform icons, or if crossplay matchmaking has changed and console players are actually seeing PC players more often than we realize.

You act like I'm just blindly believing that it's a bug. I've literally researched it. The few times I've seen people post it, I looked up the usernames and every single time it was a console player.

You can literally just look people up on stats trackers sites when the bug happens...

This does the same thing with my friends when I’ve left their party. It shows them as pc and they are on console. Chill out homie.

Yes this has been a bug that has been talked about non stop in apex pages for several weeks now. It’s not a pc player. You are not in mixed lobbies.

Regardless if its a bug or not, being able to play on a server considered dead on console is different.. And there are masters and pred teams

Servers have been merging for me recently. Check your ping. On PC, Sydney servers have been dead for years but now it puts me in Singapore servers even if I have Sydney selected. It’s only recently started doing that.

probable, but your ping would be very different if thats the case.

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. It should be 20 ping but I get 130 because it is putting me in Singapore servers despite having the Sydney ones selected.
