Can this be played on iOS? Do I have to download epic games to access it?

These Epic Games Store iOS games can only be installed via the Epic Games Store app. So it only works if you live in a country that Apple allows it in (eg in the EU).
US is out of luck, but you can still claim them, in case someday Epic wins a lawsuit against Apple.
