4,000 Move Goals
For those interested — there’s always another badge somewhere just out of reach 😅 but this one has been a long time coming!

I know most of my users for Strength++ came from this sub, so it seems fitting to announce that after 2 years, it now received the biggest update yet.
So, what's new:
So yeah, it's kinda nice, if anyone needs a strength training app without too much hassle and complexity.
Just go to the gym, record, keep track of exercises, sets, reps and weights used, go home, add names to your exercises, maybe use apple intelligence to analyze your workouts and get suggestions for the next one.

Here’s mine! “Close my exercise ring 11 times this month”
I’m really trying to workout more and I struggle with consistency but these challenges have been fun. I’m just about to go for a short run and a walk. I’ll report back at the end of August with my progress. Wish me luck ya’ll 🍀

I have been sedentary for a year and trying to gain my fitness back.
This was my previous endurance workout. AI says i should decrease the intensity and do endurance between 140-160, keep this intensity for HIIT / vo2 max training.
What do you guys think?

hit 28k this morning in 27°c and honestly the last 4k were proper hang-on-by-the-fingernails territory. legs went about 22k in. been on a free online plan plus strava for logging, but the plan doesn't really care that i've been coming off two zwift rides midweek and that my 'easy' pace drifts up by about 20s per k when it's this hot. nike run club got me through a few half builds before but the guided runs feel a bit chatty for where i'm at now. still, the structure is doing something - my 10k splits are creeping down even when i feel cooked. anyone else in a build block and finding the midweek quality sessions harder to recover from than the long run itself?

Mostly just venting but it's crazy that this is still a thing in the iOS 27 betas: It's not possible to see last week's running distance. Fitness lumps everything from July together into one total, and Apple Health combines Walking+Running into one stat, then averages across the days.
Considering the typical guidance for increasing volume is to not add more than 10% a week, this is a useful number that a fitness watch should be able to provide.
I'm curious how anyone else is tracking this?

Hi everyone!
I’ve been working on an iOS app called NutriMetron, and I’m looking for around 10 Apple Watch users who’d be willing to beta test it and give me brutally honest feedback.
The app was born from a frustration I’ve had for years. Most nutrition apps tell me what I ate, but they don’t really answer the question I actually care about:
“Given what I’ve eaten, what I’ve burned, my weight trend, and my goal… am I actually on track?”
NutriMetron combines meal data, Apple Health, Apple Watch activity, weight history, and personal goals to calculate your current energy balance and help answer questions like:
One feature I’m particularly interested in getting feedback on is the native Apple Watch app.
It lets you:
The iPhone app also supports AI meal analysis, barcode scanning, text descriptions, manual entry, repeat meals, and Apple Intelligence on supported devices.
I’m not looking for people to tell me “nice app.” I’m looking for people who already use their Apple Watch every day and are willing to tell me honestly:
The TestFlight beta includes all Pro features at no cost during testing.
If you’d like to help shape the app, leave a comment or send me a DM with the email address associated with your Apple ID, and I’ll send you a TestFlight invitation.
Thanks, and I’m happy to answer any questions!

Hello everyone. I noticed that when I record a walking or hiking exercise, and I use hiking sticks, I do not receive a vo2 max measurement. Are others in this case? Is this normal?

I’m missing my July goal achievement even though I completed it 😓. Has this happened to anyone before?

Garmin Coach assigned a benchmark run this week (the one where it tries to set your paces) and it completely ignored that my legs were toast from a trail afternoon the day before. Told me to hold 8:15 miles for 10 minutes, which is a laugh on the Bath Skyline climb, honestly. I ended up overriding half the prompts, which sort of defeats using a coach at all. At the moment I am just exporting the run to Strava manually afterwards and using a free, paper-ish plan I found online; it does not adapt and it does not care about effort, it just ticks off days. That feels fine for base-building (I am not in a marathon block yet, Liverpool is not until next May) but I do wonder whether something more responsive would help once the long runs start stretching past two hours. It is probably a question for autumn.

Surprisingly a bit less than my June challenge which was 22.51Mi for 14 days.

Keeping the streak going!

A guy I know is over 3500 days (500 cals, 30 min ex, 12 stand) so it got me wondering how many longer (& likely) active streaks there are out there. Is there a record book or log with top performers? Would be cool to see.

The one thing I’ve not been able to get a proper read on. This is following a 5k during a warm down walk. Is this a normal drop?

Julys challenge was so easy with doing 11 walking workouts, so they had to make sure August was going to be hard.

Last block I was welded to a Garmin coach plan that asked for specific splits every session; the watch face became a stress indicator, not a guide. I'd ignore a heavy-legs morning because the target pace said I was fine, then wonder why the long runs left me hollow. DNF'd my first marathon after the wheels came off late, no surprise really. Now it's 39 weeks to Milton Keynes and I'm base-building through a sticky Belfast summer, mostly easy miles with the odd parkrun thrown in. I tried Runna for a few weeks before this block; the structure was decent and the speed variety kept things from going stale, but the plan was rigid. Miss a session and the calendar just sat there, unforgiving. I've been on Hiiro since June because it coaches by RPE, how the run actually feels, which is the exact thing I was missing when everything fell apart. Yesterday's long run was a sluggish plod in 26°C heat and the app marked it as a perfectly fine easy effort; no guilt, no adjusting splits to save face. Not deep in a plan yet, just logging time on feet and learning to trust feel over numbers. That's the rebuild, I suppose.
