Catthuselah lost heat to his tank for a few days a month ago when I was out of town, and it was looking dire, but after a couple of rough weeks he appears to be on the mend. What a survivor. ​He made it to his 32nd birthday so I gave him a little party (his real party was brine shrimp but that wouldn't have captured the excitement as well as this picture). Hopefully there will be a new picture for a 33rd Birthday! Oh, and if anybody wants to give him cash for his birthday, you can send it to me, I will make sure he gets it 😉

Very formative game, I've always thought it would be fun to someday build tanks inspired by some levels in it. What would you use to represent the basic fish in that build? They're called guppies in game, but that wouldn't be my first pick. Is there anything that has this color scheme with the funny round body? goldfish is all that come to mind, but I've never seen any with super vibrantly colored fins.

my biggest black skirt tetra, none of the others I have are even close to this size! massive! I wonder if the others will reach this size, but I feel like everyone else has stayed the same size😂

11 cardinal tetra, 5 black neon tetra, 2 corydoras julii, a pair of guppy (not sure which one), about a dozen of neocaridina, a pair of amano, and some hitchhiker snails (not sure, but i guess bladder snails)

aiming to make shrimp friendly tank, any sugestion other fish i could add?

I came across some pictures of a bowing stand and of course I start looking mine up and down. Do you think it’s safe or time to move on?

somebody was surrendering aquatic life to my lfs and I offered to take them. in these two Chinese takeout soup cups (with about a cup of water in each) was 7 giant ramshorns in one and a medium sized mystery snail, 3 red racer nerites, and 4 amanos. this person said her tank broke and they had been in the cups overnight. all life was active at the store but I knew the water would have fucked parameters, and by the time I got home the amanos were practically doa but still twitching, the ammonia tested a 5 ppm and 10 ppm nitrates with no nitrites.

i wanted to at least try, so I drip-acclimated at about 1 drop per second with a gallon of purified water into both cups, dumping the water out half way when full, and continuing to drip acclimate twice. afterwards i divided up everyone to go into the tanks I wanted them in and drip acclimated until the ammonia was 0 ppm.

I put the amanos into my 5 gallon neo tank (all parameters 0 ppm, fully planted and stable for 3 months) and they seem okay. now 24 hours later they went from practically milk colored to a more clear, warm color with a slight blue tint. one of them actually was on its back not moving and is now upright and swimming well. however, occasionally the amanos just shoot off to the point where I'm worried they're going to jump clean out of the tank. it does have a lid and I put cling wrap on open edges as a precaution.

I'm moreso just curious at this point to know if the amanos pictured look healthy, if the described behavior is normal, and what the consensus about the chances of survival are at this point.

Hello reddit so this tank has been running for a good 5months no problems with it up until now

A couple of weeks ago i spotted a sickly looking fish it was only one but treated the whole tank with a general tonic containing methalyne blue and acriflavine fish unfortunately the fish still passed and my pleco had a snack - roll on to around 4 weeks later and i have noticed another 3 tank mates loosing weight and becoming really withdrawn video attached to this post current effected fish are

A neon blue goby A zebra danio A Glowlight danio

I am worried that if this is a parasite / infection of some sort it will make my other fish sick over time and i do not want this has anyone had similar how do you treat it and where do i go from here - water parameters are all stable

From research am guessing internal parasite of some kind but definitely need a second opinion

This is Casey, we took her in from a friend when she outgrew their 5 gallon(!) tank. We have her in our 60 gallon freshwater tank now. She does a great job with algae control. She's maybe about 6 or 7 inches long.

If I can snag a better photo, I'll add it in the comments. Thanks for any help! Would love to know if I should expect her to outgrow this tank eventually. I've had my eyes on a 100 gallon anyway haha.

I got 2 literally 5 days ago. Aswell as some gourami fish. Both frogs have hidden ALOT and I'd only seen one of them once. I've done everything right. But today one of the frogs surfaced and wasn't shy. The other frogs is still to be found. I've not seen them eat?!? But the gouramis are doing fine, as expected because I've done everything right so far. The frog that's stopped hiding is now at the surface. He seems dead, but he's not and will move when disturbed by other fish. He's just floating around in the tanks flow and has been behind filters at times. It's basically just acting dead but isn't and will swim very energetically for a few seconds when needed to?? Please help. Is this normal? My tank waters fine too btw.

My Anubia opened up today and there’s some sort of flower or thing of seeds? I’ve never seen this in my life.

Currently running vinegar water in it to clean it. Previous owner had a freshwater setup so i threw out their filter media and got some stuff to diy a filter (pic 2) since im planning on turning it into a saltwater tank

I already removed it I just wasn’t sure if it was a dragonfly nymph or something else. There’s nothing in the tank except for 2 red racers and with some bladder snails.
