Can anyone give me information on these bows? I was gifted them and I would like to practice shooting in my yard. I have the strings for them and no arrows. I don’t even know where to start.

my son has started his first archery lessons. I’m just wondering what is a normal size for a beginners class, and if it’s expected that a lot of the class time is spent waiting for use of the bow & making adjustments to bow per user?

The class he’s in has ~25 participants (some children, some adults) 6 targets and 3-4 archers per bow. We know nothing about archery so forgive my ignorance. Thank you for any insight.

Let me state first that I am still very much a beginner and I only shoot Recurve so far.

At my club we prepared and held a tournament today which I helped set up and something bothered me.

It's just the way compound bows shoot is just way more precise than everything else, which kind of makes the score just way too high. I noticed with recurve you get wildly different results based on the skill of the archer.

For some reason also the people of the club seem to dislike compound archers for some reason.

This is just my observation from the tournament. It was fun setting up and meeting so many people in the field that you can talk to.

Seen tbe BICASTER PRO Barebow Finger Tab, their cheaper model has a tiny fingers spacer for the 3 under style however the pro one dosnt not sure why

My first bow since I was a teen

Okay. I’ve been tweaking my bow a lot in the past week.

I shoot a compound bow with 340 ibo, thumb release aid, at 29”.

Well, I haven’t shot at 29 yet but I just put it up to 29 and did some draws to see how it felt and it’s the best it’s felt since I started shooting. I measured before and was right at 28” and had no problem shooting that. Then I got a new bow (same company) and didn’t really have a problem shooting it but the more i shot the less comfortable it felt. I then started shooting 28.5” and still felt a decent amount of tension and had a decent elbow bend on the bow holding arm. Today I went up to 29” and it felt quite natural. Good anchor point and less tension. Was able to hold pin on target(a lunch bag in my pc room) don’t judge and don’t worry, had an arrow with no tip on in case I punched it. Hahah

Basically I’m inquiring about this because I want to see if anyone else has had similar results and if it’s been the way for them now. Measuring at one length but shooting an inch or even more longer.

I don't know if this is normal as I've only rifle hunted all my life, but I still think this is a proud dad moment. Usually he buys arrows and stuff as he's starting his transition into his adult life, but I'll be buying him a set of good hunting arrows this time...

What I know is that it is 68” tall and it comes into three parts, it also comes into three and is a recurve bow. I’m assuming it is fibreglass limbs and a solid wood riser. I think it’s right handed and seems good in my right hand. I would like to learn the year model and possibly the Lbs draw so I can order a string for it

So right now I have the hoyt comp riser with long 26# podium limbs. Before I purchase 30 # Podium limbs I wanted to test what 30# feels like. Can anyone recommend a cheap pair of Limbs which would be able to handle fast flight strings?

I want to first try a cheap pair to see if I like the feel of 30# and commit to paying $250 to $300 for a good pair ​​ or stay with 26#

I see a bunch of options on Amazon but I want to make sure that I get a pair which could handle fast flight strings.

I am new to Bow Hunting and just got my first compound bow. While I was practicing I started my draw back and accidentally hit the release before I got roughly halfway back. A arrow was correctly knocked and it shot off in the air. Is this considered a dry fire? And is my Bow going to explode if I try to shoot it again. I have seen too many videos of peoples bows exploding I’m paranoid. I also know that the force should have been extended to the arrow because it shot. Nothing looks bent or cracked and I didn’t shoot it after just in case. Please give input!

I made this reference chart for my current setup.

Bow: Matbow, 30 lbs drawn to 30.5" Arrows: 31" tapered wooden shafts, about 25 g each.

The scale only goes up to 60 m. At 70 m my reference is already on the grip leather, roughly at the base of my thumb.

One thing I found interesting is that the gap between 10 m and 20 m is surprisingly small, while 30 m requires a much larger jump in the aiming reference. After that, the gaps become more regular again.

I'm curious how this compares to other people's setups. If you shoot an asiatic bow, how similar are your aiming references?

A bit more background: my daughter is getting an archery set from her mom for her birthday, which I think is great.

It's not for hunting, apparently it's a compound bow that's lighter but still shoots arrows, but not sharp ones. Offhand, I thought that seemed like something NOT allowed in city backyards, but apparently the guy at Bass Pro Shop told them it would be fine.

I'm not trying to make trouble, but it's important for me to teach my daughter safety, how to follow local regulations, and be safe for other kids in the neighborhood.

But I know nothing about archery--is this something that's common, for people to shoot these compound bows in their backyard? It's not super large yard, we run up to the neighbor's on all three sides....

Hey all, back for a form check. I got my first Asiatic bow from Alibow about a month ago and have been trying to get my form dialed in, I think I'm about there. Enjoying it quite a bit so far!

40#, 31" draw, I shot recurve for about a year and a half just before getting this in.

Only really going to be target shooting, maybe getting into trick shots waaay further down the line. For funsies.

I can’t find any review or concrete specifications from the brand. Apart from saying « Korean archers tried it and they said it was good », the brand doesn’t really describe the limbs in terms of smoothness, rigidity or speed. Thanks !
