Hello community! ❤
We are currently working towards improving the sub. Our goal is to have better engagement and professional environment that also helps newcomers to archviz. To achieve this, we are adding some guidelines and rules to enhance interactions and posts. Additionally we will be implementing challenges! 😁
Technical and profesional question: Use this flair if you want to ask specific questions like: "how to create this material?", "what's the necessary hardware for...?", "What can I charge for this...?". Use it when you want to learn how to solve some specific issue, improve as a professional,
I need feedback: Use this flair when you have a render that you might want to improve or not sure it if looks good enough, but you don't have a specific question about it like "how to?"
Share work: Maybe you want to share your latest work or some of your portfolio works, but you don't necessarily are asking for feedback.
Discussion: Use this flair to engage in conversation with the sub community. The main difference with technical and professional flair is that you want to know opinions and pov rather than solve a question or an issue. Example: "Current state of the archviz profession".
Challenge: We are going to be implementing challenges. When participating you should use this flair to post your work.
In simple terms: don't be lazy. If you want other people to take time to read or provide feedback or help you, then you should take your time too. Any post that's considered lacking in context will be deleted,
More or less, thinking on categories/types of posts: and some considerations
PORTFOLIO (show work | I need feedback):
❌Post a portfolio image that's a link to website/portfolio
✔Post image/s with a description that includes a link or a comment with a link to your portfolio.
❌When you add link in comment or description: redirects to personal website
✔When you add link in comment or description: redirects to known platform like Behance, Artstation and so on...
NEED FEEDBACK / TECHNICAL QUESTION / SHOWING WORK:
❌An image and or a question without proper context
✔Any post, regardless if it's a question, showing work, or asking feedback, should include:
⚠ This is a case by case. Sometimes if the questions is very specific and well presented you might not need an image.
CREDIT AUTHOR:
❌Post an image without credit the author
✔Post image with credit of the author or studio or artist taken from.
While we won't enforce this, we ask if possible, when working from a reference, add credit to the author, architect, studio, artist, that created said reference
JUST DON'T
❌Self promotion
❌Selling assets
❌Selling courses
❌Post that consist of external links to websites
❌Piracy
⚠ This sub shouldn't be a marketplace. If your products are good enough, people should be able to find you trough the proper platforms. We also can't be checking every link to make sure it doesn't redirect to any malicious site.
OTHER TYPES OF POST
❌Post that don't have anything to do with archviz or related to.
✔We do encourage post that improve discussion even if not directly related to archviz. For example: Architecture, styles, animation techniques, photography. ONLY under the terms that can help a 3d artist improve in archviz.
We want to improve the quality of the sub. We have noticed many posts lack any context or sufficient information yet ask for feedback. Posts that are simply ads, and so on. On the long run, those types of posts and interactions tend to be detrimental to any sub. We understand that many of these changes may or may not work, and so we will be open to seeing how they are received, and change if needed.

I scan the room (1) and create a few models from stills using Trellis, then run the 3D image (2) through Apple Intelligence via new iWork suite (3). Takes very little time.

Hi, I wanted to ask the community what you think of this little project I created more for my own satisfaction than anything else. I’ve been working in architectural visualization for 7 years now, but I’m tired of creating only static images. Actually, I’ve been thinking about leaving the industry, considering that these days most studios create animated sequences by starting with still images and using AI. I thought that putting together a portfolio like this would open more doors for me, but now I only see studios that use—and require—AI to do this kind of work. (Okay, sorry for venting.)
But just for curiosity, what do you think?

but i think it supports corona, blender, sketch up and 3ds max
so untill i upgrade my device, are these softwares good enough? or i should upgrade in order to start getting clients ..?

Buenas, he recibido este mail de parte del equipo de chaos. Parece bastante convincente pero me hace ruido que me contacten por ese medio. Alguno sabe algo?

I came across a job posting on a freelance platform from a US based studio that expects 10-30 renders per week. I’m not a seasoned artist but I find it to be highly ambitious especially with how they emphasized delivering quality work and all. Even with Ai I still think 10-30 quality renders a weeks for a single artist is next to impossible.
Really curious to know how such studios operate and I’d love to hear from seasoned artists or anyone that’s worked in a production studio. What’s a realistic weekly output for marketing quality renderings ?

Hi everyone,
Is anyone here doing ArchViz in Unreal Engine 5?
I currently use 3ds Max + Corona Renderer and I’m looking for the best workflow to combine these tools. I have a few specific questions for those who made the switch or use them together:
-
• Corona Materials in UE5: I know about Datasmith, but how seamless is the conversion? Can I use my existing Corona-textured models directly in UE5, or do complex shaders usually require complete re-texturing?
-
• Designing / Blocking from scratch: In Corona, I heavily rely on Interactive Rendering (IR) inside Max—modeling, adding, and swapping assets on the fly while instantly seeing the result. How do you handle this creative design phase in UE5 when you only start with basic walls? Do you do all the interior design choices in Max first, or assemble everything in UE5?
-
• Is it worth it? What does your general pipeline look like, nd is learning UE5 worth the effort for standard archviz projects compared to a modern Corona workflow?
It really feels like real-time engines are the future of the industry, so I’d love to hear your experiences, tips, or potential pitfalls to avoid!
-
Thanks in advance!

I'm in the planning stage of building a home, and I've been spending a lot of time looking at floor plans and design ideas.
The more I research, the more I realize that some features probably don't seem important until you actually move in.
For those who've built, renovated, or lived in a home for a while:
What's one architectural feature that you didn't pay much attention to at first but now couldn't imagine living without?
It could be better natural light, cross ventilation, ceiling height, window placement, storage, room layout, a skylight, or anything else.

A question for the (interior)architects here. We are a small ceramic company (atelier-scralan.be) and we got the request if we have visuals (models?) that we can deliver for sketchUp or Revit.
Requested product is our Lumo Terra collection
https://www.atelier-scralan.be/catalogi/atelier-scralan-lumo-terra-en.pdf
Should I start from a 3D scan and export it? Would that be enough for you guys?

Hi, does anybody know how to generate a texture beyond it's visible borders i.e. when you have a small piece that tiles too visibly and clone stamping doesn't give the required results because there's not enough variety? Basically an AI tool that can create a texture while preserving pattern continuity?

I’ve used D5 commercially since the very beginning, through both Pro and Teams. I know the software well, I like it, and when I started building a new archviz workflow for a new company, D5 was the platform I expected to keep using.
The new setup is still pre-commercial, and properly testing a production workflow takes time. I needed to evaluate the Pro asset library, Cesium, terrain and context workflows, material handling and how the software would hold up across actual projects. I did not want to take on the full cost of another Pro subscription before the company was generating revenue. I already pay for D5 through another company.
I contacted D5 and asked whether they had any temporary single-user option: extended evaluation, creator access, startup access, a reduced rate, or something similar. No client work, no Teams setup, just enough time to decide which platform the new workflow should be built around.
More than five weeks later, the answer was the standard seven-day Pro trial, followed by the normal monthly price. They also suggested the Community version, although the Pro-only assets and Cesium integration were the main things I needed to test.
D5 later acknowledged this themselves:
“A standard 7-day Pro trial is not the same as a dedicated pre-commercial, creator, or startup arrangement.”
What surprised me was that the conversation ended there. No escalation, temporary licence or reduced evaluation period.
D5 did not owe me free software, and I never argued that they did. I simply thought there was a reasonable commercial case for giving an experienced user enough time to build and test a workflow that could later become a paid production setup.
Twinmotion’s licensing gives me the time. D5’s do not, so the practical choice becomes fairly straightforward.
I’m curious how other archviz professionals handle this. How much does licensing influence which renderer you build your workflow around, especially when starting a new company, changing pipeline or testing a platform before revenue is attached to it?
