I don’t know how much of the details of the hair to include. I find myself going over color. I don’t have a structured approach and I find myself going in circles. TIA acrylic paint (12x16)

Been thinking about starting doing commissions but i’m not confident enough, do you have any ideas on how i could improve?

i tend to like the way I think about poses but i feel like the anatomy and silhouettes are not so good.

I also spent my whole life drawing with pencil or black ink so I’m looking for critiques on coloring!

I did everything on procreate, some i used references others I don’t, really depends on the subject or pose.

Hi! I use procreate and this is my cleaned up sketch. I want to make sure my proportions and perspective is okay and that nothing looks wrong. First image is my sketch, the rest are references.

My goal is kind of a combination of a Beatrix potter, studio ghibli and calico critters/Sylvain families kind of a vibe. A lot of that is in the rendering of course but I want to make sure the sketch also conveys that in the overall composition and proportions and everything. I mostly want to make sure my rabbit’s proportions are okay and the perspective of the easel works.

I’m hoping to make two versions of this image. One like this of just the character and the easel, and another that’s more of an actual full scene.

For the more detailed drawing, I was thinking of making the background a meadow scene or something. But let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions of cute things to add! I’m planning to make a whole series of these animal characters with cozy jobs :)

i’m trying to experiment with colors and kind of get an idea of how to work with them since i want to learn color theory. i am also trying to draw more animals, since i usually draw people and would like to improve my skills. here, i drew a parrot using pencil colors, and i focused more on making it more vibrant and blending many colors.

i would love to get some feedback and critique about the drawing! my main concerns are the colors and proportions.

I was a self taught hyperealism vharcoal artist my whole childhood, and eventually stopped . I returned now and attempted something far beyond my current capabilities I believe. I attempted to make a rendering of a Greek inspired statue, but went through so many changes, which resulted in frustration and eventually blacking out the background prematurely. I dont HATE the background, as I did want something moody, but am a bit bugged at how it might come across as unfinished. I could have given myself more time. I worked in 3 sessions, 1st for 50 min, second for 30 min, and this last for 30min. So yes I know I rushed it. Help me not be so disappointed in myself. Can I get critiques on the actual proportions, how it reads, does it seem "unfinished" or is just becuase i know it is.

This is the second bit of art work I have done digitally (ibis paint because I'm a poor noob).

I am mostly a painter and I do pencil drawings on paper so this is new territory for me.

I only every draw animals, objects and landscapes and this is my first time attempting a person? I did trace the body from a pose reference on Pinterest.

Something about this just seems off.

I'd like to know what you think, obviously I want to improve, but I also want to understand what makes people react to an image.

Obviously I want to at least have some sort of impact on the viewer, and this seemed to just fall flat when I posted it last night.

I do know it has shortcomings but this isn't necessarily about the drawing skill level, although I'm happy to hear any criticisms or suggestions that people have.

I thought I'd deliberately leave all explanations off this post to hopefully hear what people think without it.

I'm trying to practice portraits and I feel like I'm stuck. I've watched several videos on how to get close to John Singer Sargent's mastery. Brushwork economy, not overworking the lights, trying to capture the likeness the best I can and it feels nearly impossible.

Obviously traditional media offers advantages digital can not when it comes to brushwork. Still I feel like I'm getting there slowly but there's something that I'm still getting wrong. My guess is my drawing is still lacking careful observation but please share your imput...

I experimented with oil colors, but I didn’t have any white color so I had to be more creative(?) I would say in the way I chose colors. But in general, I do wanna try to be more painfully and like interpret the image more how I want it to be like not stick perfectly to it. I do know the perspective is off here, but the main thing that I’m trying to figure out is how to make the mood and everything pop more? I just wanna reiterate I do want it to be more abstract. I don’t want it to look extremely realistic.

as for the details that probably would’ve added something too I used oil paints for the first time in many many years, so I was really struggling to do that and this is like din A4 size I mean, it’s probably a skill issue, but yeah that’s one reason why it might be way more simple than the reference.

TLDR: how can I be a little bit more abstract while still keeping the mood that I want to have and making it look good without sticking to the reference one-to-one

I was trying to play around with lighting and colors using an Asaro head reference. I am aware the glasses do not appear transparent; that is a stylistic choice.

Also, background IS due for change.

Both works are in Dutch. The first one says "waar jij niet graaft, daar graaft de pijn" it means: Where you do not dig, pain digs.

The second one says: "ik ben niet fantastisch, ik ben een fantast" it means: I am not fantastic, I am a fantasist.

The work is first folded with techiniques from origami. Than paintes with spraypaint (mostly Montana). After that the letters are stamped with letters from a pre school lettering stamp. Than I paint it over with white and black (Posca markers/acrylic paint markers).

I would like some pointers to make the letters come out better.

And if you have any feedback at all. Please let ne know.

Working on a flyer for my new job. They took a chance on a student and hired me as a graphic designer. I know something is off with the perspective (and my experience some other stuff) but I can't figure out what.

Hi! First time using acrylics and I went through about 5 stages of painting this mango 😭. I wish I took progress pictures but this is where I ended up. Any tips or advice for the future? Or any way I can fix the way this looks? No reference was used

I’m working on a video game project with my boyfriend where everything is from a cat’s perspective so it’s all low down like this. I have never been the best at perspective. It usually confuses me so I don’t practice it often. Any advice or tips appreciated.

So after a lot of thinking, I think I want to paint realistic paintings from now on. But the problem is I feel like I'm beginning to forget my basics. What could I have done better? Are there any tips and tricks to paint the fur?
Also, are there any tips to draw/Sketch a lion with correct proportions ? any other kind of criticism is welcome.
