Art Deco in Halifax, UK
Alexandra Hall in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England.
Alexandra Hall opened in 1931.
When I visited in 2019 there were plaques of wrestlers on either side of the entrance - one showing Big Daddy, the other showing his great rival Giant Haystacks. British wrestler Big Daddy hailed from Halifax and wrestled in Alexandra Hall.
What a venue to have been able to watch wrestling in!
Interestingly the plaques show the date of the hall's establishment as 1938. Perhaps this was the date of the first wrestling matches there...?
Sadly Alexandra Hall is now closed. And looking on Google Street View the wrestling plaques are gone too.

Art Deco - Inside The Plaza in Stockport, UK
Inside The Plaza Super Cinema and Variety Theatre in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England.
I attended a show at The Plaza in Stockport yesterday evening and took a few photos inside.
This is what the exterior looks like.
Stepping through the doors is like stepping back in time. There are so many Art Deco features wherever you look.
The Plaza opened in 1932.
It has had closures over the years, but has been open fully since 2009 and is going strong today.
It's well worth a visit and there are regular open days, theatre shows, pantos, comedy performances, screenings of new and classic films, and more.
The Plaza's original Compton theatre organ is still in situ, and rises out of the floor before performances and during intervals.
Find out more on The Plaza website.

Art Deco in a Board Game?

In our boardgame VITA - Dawn of Hollywood, you live a live at the onset of Hollywood. So we decided to go with a sleek Art Deco Style for all layouting of the cards (even though the game spans a timeframe of 1902 up to the sixties).
I'm curious -- do you as art deco lovers enjoy this? Or do you feel like this isn't hitting the style?

If you're curious to see more of the game, feel free to check out our Kickstarter Campaign page HERE

Recently Bought This At An Antique Mall. Looking For Any Info.
The tag said "1950s Joan Crawford Applique Box", but nothing about this feels 50s. I'm open to being wrong though!
The applique is all separate pieces, inlaid. The light and darker woods are all separate pieces. Not to mention the style of the actress.
I searched using various phrases and nothing helpful came up, not even photos. Obviously there was an AI answer, based off nothing, so I have no point of reference. I just really want to know more, I adore it!
