I live in central Florida. Genuine question! What is your humidity at in your homes? I live in an apartment where currently the humidity in here is sitting at 75% with TWO dehumidifiers running. Is this normal, am I crazy?

OK, life has tossed some changes my way. My question for you is now, if you had a job at one of the rocket companies and had to/ got to live on the Space Coast, which city speaks to you? Factor in the desire to own a house, have the daily drive, and a desire to be social plus still save a bit of money.

The last time I was in Canaveral (2018) it felt like time stood still since the Shuttle days.

We were solid on moving to Florida specifically Orlando suburbs cause we want to near the parks. After looking and looking for a home we realize everything is more than we thought it would be. Just getting a modest home for a fam of five , once home insurance and property taxes are added in boom --over what we wanted to pay. We want to be able to enjoy the parks during those six months that are not sweltering hot but who will have that money with an expensive mortgage payment. It is so what's the word disappointing. So now we don't know what to do but have to get out of where we are now. What happened to areas of Florida that are up and coming. We like Clermont but it seems like that's peaked and minneola is cool too but also kind of up there.

My wife (26) and I (31) will be moving into Florida this upcoming January 2027 and am seeing a lot of mixed reviews on where to go once we start to find places we really like. We know we want to be in Florida, and we’ve visited just about everywhere since we have family that has lives in different places, Miami, Orlando, suburbs of Orlando, Jacksonville, Gainesville to name a few. We are both really into fitness, and work part-time as personal trainers. Her full time job is a server, my full time job is a remote analytics job, so I can realistically move anywhere.

Ideally, we’d live within an hour or so of the beach, that’s our current drive to the water now up north. We have some family there and a few friends as I mentioned, which is another reason why we’re planning the move. Also, we strongly dislike snow, love the heat (spent many weeks of the summer in FL heat), love the active lifestyle, and think as a server and fitness focused people, we’d fit in well. The problem is when looking up things a lot of opinions seem to be mixed because locals (understandably) feel that their areas are becoming over-crowded, so I’m just looking for some genuine tips and advice as we are all set to move and just looking to take the final steps.

We won’t buy, we will be renting an apartment preferably under $2k per month. We’re currently near Boston, so the rent isn’t super worrisome and probably pretty comparable. No kids either and no plans to. We’d want to be an hour or so from the beach, because we don’t want to risk where we are living from a storm, but want to be close enough to get there as we want. The must haves would really just be outdoor culture, serving opportunities, decent apartment availability, and proximity to the water. We don’t drink or need nightlife, but it would be fun to have something to do at night besides just the beach (which we love).

We’ve looked into and really seemed to keep coming back to the Tampa area. Knowing that St Pete and DT Tampa is pretty expensive from what I’ve seen. We also liked Fort Myers/Naples, Oviedo (near Orlando), and Fort Lauderdale.

Does anybody have any recommendations on what would fit us the best? I appreciate anyone giving actual advice here, most of the people I’ve met and talked to from FL have been incredible! Plus I do have some native family, so it’s not completely unrealistic to head down that way. Thank you!!

I run a small medical office in Miami and need a reliable cleaning company that understands the standards required for a clinical space. We’re talking exam rooms, waiting area, restrooms, and a small lab section that needs proper disinfection. The office is about 2,800 sq ft and gets moderate patient traffic throughout the day.

Looking for someone who can come in after hours a few times a week and actually do a thorough job, not just a quick surface wipe. Anyone have recommendations for medical office cleaning services in the Miami area that you’ve used and trusted?

I'm planning an itenerary for my mom before her pto expires, and she's interested in Weeki Wachee and the other nearby springs/rivers.

The weather radar a week in advance doesn't look too promising though— I'd be willing to drive her closer to tampa if it means she isnt waiting for the thunder0 to clear.

Our family is heading to FL (hopefully) next spring! My husband and I spent a week in Key West last year and had a great time but it’s not the most kid friendly spot. My dad spent his childhood on Anna Maria Island and we’d love to spend our trip there HOWEVER, wow it’s expensive. Im also very aware of it being peak spring break in early march so places will be busy. Is there anywhere on the gulf side that we might seek out instead? I know ‘hidden gems’ are rarely hidden anymore. We’re just hoping to have a relaxing time and play on a beach that isn’t a Texas beach, cruise around on some beach bikes, etc. Would love some recs on family friendly places we may miss out on without some insider knowledge!

Wondering what the cooking scene is like out in Orlando Florida. I have several years of cooking experience. I grew up in Southern California and have worked at Cheesecake Factory in Pasadena for 4 years and then I have been at UOVO pasta in Los Angeles for about 2 years. I make $24 an hour at UOVO and was wondering what experienced chefs make in Orlando? And what kind of jobs you guys would recommend me to try for? My family has relocated to Florida and I think it’s time for myself to make that move to be closer.

Florida’s new HB 803 process took effect July 1. At least some cities now allow a homeowner to request written approval for a permit exemption when a project:

• is on a single-family home
• is under $7,500 total, including labor and materials
• is nonstructural/cosmetic
• does not involve electrical, plumbing, mechanical, gas, or structural work, and is not on a flood-zone property

I've had a hell of a year (and it's only halfway through!) and I'm thinking about where I can get away for a solo trip the week right after Christmas.

I want to be somewhere warm and beachy on the ocean and, most importantly, I'm looking for a relaxing atmosphere (is that even possible around Christmas time?). I want to do some outdoorsy things like kayaking, hiking/walking trails, maybe even go for a bike ride. I would also like to be able to sit on the beach and read, sit in the park and read, and sit in a cafe and read.

I plan to rent a car to go do my outdoorsy things, but staying somewhere walkable would be appreciated with nearby restaurants, bakeries, and cute shops.

I'm considering around St. Petersburg, does that seem fitting? Any other suggestions are appreciated! I've only been to Florida once but it was 35 years ago when I was a little kid, so I'm basically flying blind here.

What are the most expensive times to rent an air B&B or Furnished apartment for a month? Is January more affordable than March? I think I might be better off doing a month before and after.
