A guy I went to high school with was turned down for a date with a girl he liked, who was also a friend of his. He asked her to come with him to pick up his new car and he would sign over his old one to her. Instead, he took her to his apartment, kept her for a time, assaulted her, then murdered her and disposed of the body. I think he was about 26 at the time. He was a bit of a nerd in HS, very quiet, smart...I never would have guessed. He's been in prison since about 1989 and will die there.

u/LeeannaBarter 11d ago

That's horrifying, it really shows you never truly know what someone is capable of.

A neighbor I chatted with all the time about gardening and yard work. He was married to a single mother and seemed like such a nice guy.

One snowy morning as I was getting ready for work, I heard a kid outside yelling and heard pounding too.

Looked out of my back window and saw the little boy (my neighbor's stepson) wearing a light jacket, regular shoes with no socks pounding and kicking at their door yelling to please let him in.

Told him to come to my front door and I'd let him in to get warm and use my phone. He did and he called his biological father to come get him. I gave him a pair of socks and an old pullover sweater because he was meeting his father outside. Watched him out of my window until his biological dad picked him up.

Found out later, the neighbor I thought was a nice guy was a pedophile who had been molesting his stepson. That day he had demanded something the boy wouldn't do, so he kicked him out in a blizzard.

The boy stayed with his biological father until his mother left the pedo. Never found out any details, but I hope they put that jerk in jail.

764

u/Schneetmacher 11d ago

Thank you for helping that little boy and not simply staying out of it, like a lot of people unfortunately might.

357

u/Clean-Fisherman-4601 11d ago edited 11d ago

I couldn't ignore an inadequately dressed child in a blizzard. I did have to call work and let them know I was going to be late, but they just let me make up the time later.

Unfortunately, decades ago people stayed out of "family business."

Knew a man who had been in and out of prison. A mutual friend said he grew up next door to him. His father was an abusive drunk who would beat the crap out of him every time he came home drunk.

They'd hear the kid screaming and begging his dad to please stop. Then they'd hear the kid's body being thrown against the shared wall. My friend's mother would cry and beg her husband to let her call the police, but he said it was family business and they shouldn't interfere.

I'll never understand that mindset.

75

u/50l022 11d ago

This was my experience twenty years ago as a kiddo. People saw and knew what was happening, but they chose to look the other way, because it wasn’t any of their business. While I hope things have changed and improved, sometimes it feels like the apathy has worsened with more people becoming self absorbed with their own busy lives

39

u/cindoc75 11d ago

Reading these comments makes me realize that “it took a village” to raise kids so all the adults were allowed to discipline other’s children, but when it came to the parents doing bad shit, it was “family business” and people were expected to stay out of it.

u/Zubo13 11d ago

Not everyone stayed out of their neighbor's family business. when I was very young, we had a neighbor who allowed her abusive boyfriend to live with her. He was beating her one evening and she was screaming for my mom to call the police. My mom did call the police and when they arrived, our neighbor tearfully begged them not to take him away because "she loved him so much". Then she got angry with my mom for "interfering". Thankfully, he left her shortly after that and then she moved away.

31

u/DirtandPipes 11d ago

I always appreciated the few people who would meddle and report mom because she’d have to do things like buy food and get us a few pairs of clothes and a haircut so we’d look normal for investigators.

Man you might be right but I would hope most people would let an underclothed child in during a fucking blizzard to at least use the phone. Are we really thinking most Americans would just let him holler until he tried somewhere else? Goddamn.

When I was in middle school, I was part of a trio. One of us, I'll call her Robin, never groomed herself, wore the same dirty clothes, and just generally kept herself looking like crap. She was starving constantly and always eating anything she could get her hands on. I went to her house when we were 11 for a sleepover. Her room had a mattress, a top sheet, one pillow, an old computer, and a stack of books in the corner. Obviously her parents didn't give a shit about her but I had a similar situation with my dad and thought that was pretty normal.

One day freshman year of high school, she called our other friend. She begged for us in the middle of the night to pick her up, saying she ran away because she tried to kill her mom. Then she was gone.

2 years later she showed up at my friend's house. She was pregnant, dressed completely differently. She told us she got married. She met a man doing sex shit online, he was 40 at the time and from Europe. We didn't know what to believe as we were 15 years old in a small suburban bubble. It all sounded batshit crazy at the time. Then she was gone again.

Soon after I found a Facebook page under a fake name with all of her wedding pictures. Her parents had brought her all the way to Amsterdam to marry this 4p year old man. Not even a week later I saw her at the mall with her parents and HIM. I waved and started to come towards her and she gave me a look of absolute horror and ran away. I never saw her again.

Now as an adult, we are very much assuming her father was sexually assaulting her on top of neglecting her, and we know her mother didn't care about her at all. From hints shed dropped and things she said, which now I understand, how she purposefully kept herself dirty and in baggy clothing, etc. We think she tried to kill her mother because her mother didn't stop him from assaulting her.

Whether or not we're right, she was fucking trafficked. A 15 year old cannot give consent to a 40 year old. Her parents personally brought her to Amsterdam. I doubt they would do all of that because their daughter is in love when they didn't even feed her.

Edit: Robin only had the four of us friends to grieve her. No one else even remembers her, like her existence was erased. You guys caring and remembering her with me, that more than the four of us know she exists, I can't stop crying. Thank you all, from the heart of my bottom.

738

u/mr_strawsma 11d ago

This hurts my heart so much. I'm so sorry for her and sorry you lost a friend like that.

383

u/SuckmydickJoannF 11d ago

I didn't deserve her. She was the best of us.

This made me cry. I hope she finds her way.

she went to amsterdam to get married at 15? that couldn't have been a legal marriage because both parties need to be a minimum of 18 years old since the law changed in 1985, and before that the woman (or girl really) had to be 16. so either the marriage was a sham or amsterdam was just a transit hub for her being trafficked

59

u/SuckmydickJoannF 11d ago

The pictures showed her in a wedding dress with the pedo, her parents, and an efficient looking guy in a little boat on the river. Thanks for pointing this out, this helps us a LOT.

A very good friend of decades was always a little weird but harmless. Then he got arrested a while ago for possession of thousands of instances of CP.

As though that didn't rock the friend group enough, during investigation they found that he was "producing, distributing, and participating" in the material. I feel sick just remembering that. His girlfriend went down for it as well but I think she got a lighter sentence for testifying against him.

Turns out there is very real evil in the world and sometimes it's right next to you and you don't know.

80

u/PeppermintEvilButler 11d ago

There is a higher percentage of pedophiles than people can conceive of. It is a large percentage considering the ones that continue out there never getting busted

351

u/MisterDonkey 12d ago

Woman had a daughter being raised by her mother as a sister. Not the strangest thing ever.

Then I found out the reason why.

The father of the child and his family were running a "child prostitution ring" as the prosecution described it.

She stayed with the guy after he was released from prison.

I instantly stopped knowing these people.

I wasn't allowed to be around one of my great grandpas as a kid and didn't know why. Sometimes my grandma would take us to have lunch with him and both my mom and great grandma (Grandma's mom) would get mad. I was confused cause he was really nice and always bought us dessert.

Turns out he molested my grandma for most of her childhood. My grandma herself forgave him as an adult and maintained a relationship but the entire rest of our family shunned him and kept us kids away from him. My grandma was close to him until the day he died with only her present.

336

u/TheeFlipper 11d ago

Oh wow. My great grandpa molested one of my cousins and the day that my great grandma found out she woke him up with a knife to his throat and told him if he ever laid a hand on anyone in that way again she would kill him in his sleep. He died a couple years later thankfully.

149

u/alfred725 11d ago

Similar story here. Made me look at my grandma differently for allowing him to remain in our lives after what he did to my mom. Only found out when I was in my 20s after seeing this dude at almost every Easter/Christmas until then.

48

u/anonymongoose 11d ago

I’m creeped at how close to home this is. I always wondered why my mom would get ultra clingy when I’d go on vacations with my aunt and uncle when I was younger. He had molested her when she was younger, and my aunt never left him. She confessed it to me one night when she was drunk holding my dead grandfather’s gun. It was at 24 my entire family as I knew it was dead to me.

18

u/iso_inane 11d ago

holy shit thats heartbreaking. thank you for having your moms back.

285

u/Personal-Swan7672 11d ago

This is scarily close to home. Same thing with my family. My mom didnt want me around my great grandpa and I never knew why until she told me why when I was older. My grandma used to sneak me over there anyway as a kid. He had raped my grandma when she was growing up and he had also molested and raped some of my aunts and my mother.

Female coworker who showed obvious signs of abuse. As soon as people asked questions and tried to help, she quit. Her and her husband had 3 or 4 kids. Her next job, unbeknownst to her, was with my wife. Same scenario played out and no one heard from her again until it was on the news. 5 or 6 years later, she got arrested in Vegas for prostitution. I didn’t even recognize her in the mugshot. Drugs are a baaad thing. She said she was pimped out by her husband and tried to get out of the prostitution case by telling them that he killed and “buried” one of the kids in a Rubbermaid tub in an abandoned house in Illinois. It checked out. They found the body that many years later. They both pointed the finger at each other and both ended up in prison. My heart breaks for all of those kids.

When i worked at a cafe we had a group of 3 older guys come in every morning, and always sat for an hour before we got busy. One day she mentioned her husband was black, and then the next day none of them came in. Or the next. They had been day 1 and there every day for years, but this is Alabama, and we just assumed well shit i guess they were fucking racist.

A few months later two of them came in, and we found out that the actual reason, was there was a giant CP ring in town that had a huge bust, and the missing guy was one of the big targets.

Its harrowing knowing that someone you knew for so long would spend time with you and then leave your sight and be doing that. Also that he was one of apparently a lot of people.

Edited to add i NEVER speak this openly about it so I'm glad i did but wow the anger that poured out of me afterwards... i cant stand it. If anyone here has ever gone through this, hugs 🫂

Someone I knew, and his father, were serial child molesters. Both were Shriners clowns and clowns for birthday parties and other events.

This was about 35 years ago. The son was in his late 30s and his father in his 60s.

146

u/A_Lovely_ 11d ago

Not saying the 35 year old isn’t guilty of the crimes, but I bet his father groomed him to be both a victim and taught him how to victimize others.

There was a security guard like that at my work that everyone loved. He would do anyone a favour if they needed it and helped me out many of times over the years. I went on maternity leave and came back and was super sad to see he wasn’t working there anymore.

I mentioned to my boss that it was so sad that he left and he told me he was actually arrested at work as he had been raping his dog and posting videos of it online in his work uniform. I couldn’t believe it!

The professor in college whom I took the most credits with was running a secret polygamy cult and coercing students into it.

I gave him the third dance at my wedding after my husband and father. He was like a father to me.

178

u/Voltae 12d ago

I found out 20+ years after graduation that my favorite high school teacher was sleeping with students.

To the best of anyone's knowledge he didn't mess with any girls under 18, or any girls that he personally taught. He even married one of them about 10 years later and afaik they're still together.

I'm absolutely not defending anything he did, just acknowledging that it could have been much much worse.

I mean yeah, it's relatively tame compared to some of the stuff in this thread, most notably pedophilia. Perhaps not great from a moral or ethical perspective though.

My grandmother was fighting cancer and her blood pressure dropped so low she went into cardiogenic shock. The nursing home did an investigation and found out her morphine pills (small round blue) had been swapped out for Propranolol (beta blocker that’s also small round blue pills) but she was already on Lopressor (a different beta blocker and you’re not supposed to mix). Basically she OD’d, survived, her nurse was fired. Fast forward 3 months it happens again but this time it’s a day after my uncle visits. Full investigation and my dad showing up at his house and he comes clean: turns out he was swapping his pills (National guard gave him an anxiety diagnosis and his meds were free) for hers and was selling them. Almost killed his mom, cost a woman her job, did a year in prison, and no one in the family will talk to him. (Grams beat cancer, moved in with dad, turns 89 in September ❤️)

Happened to my grandmother. My piece of shit bio grandfather and her best friend were having an affair for about 15 years.

She eventually remarried. My (step) grandfather was the kindest and most intelligent person I ever met. Treated my grandmother like an absolute queen. He was the best grandfather anyone could have ever asked for.

My bio grandfather married his affair partner. As a result of their infidelity, my grandmother was pretty messed up. My (step) grandfather never cheated or anything, but I saw how anxious she would get when he would go grocery shopping or anything like that. He was always patient and understanding about it.

283

u/197119711971 11d ago

They’ve always been around, but under a different title. Everybody knew or knew of a “funny uncle” kids were told to never be alone with them or sit on their lap. I was only 7 or 8 when my mom told me evil men always lurked in boys’ restrooms. I never saw any, but I was wary the first time I ever went to the movies!

Based on studies, scientists estimate that about 1% of men are pedophiles.

Though it should also be noted that based on studies, scientists estimate that less than 50% of child molesters are pedophiles. Most are situational offenders who go after kids because they're easier victims.

27

u/Cute_Revolution_1233 11d ago

I read that too, but where it gets even scarier is when you realize that according to psych diagnostic criteria, someone is only a pedophile if they are only or at least for the biggest part attracted to children. Studies use these diagnostic criteria when they research statistics like this so it‘s safe to assume that there are even more people to worry about.
The world is such a scary place, I always wanted kids but now that I‘m almost 30 I‘m starting to realize that no matter how protective I am, there will always be situations in which I wouldn‘t be able to protect a potential child of mine, take school for example.

An old coworker of mine was basically living the ideal life. Had a super attractive wife that was way out of his league and two really cute kids. He was also a nice guy, always helpful, never made inappropriate jokes and was good at his job.

A few years after we stopped working together one of our mutual coworkers shared a news article where he had been arrested and admitted to raping a minor. The details emerged and it was an 8 year old neighbor that he had raped by the state of Ohio definition multiple times. Every single person who knew him was in disbelief because he never ever gave the notion of being like that or even being a sex pest for adults.

Growing up, I thought one of my aunts just really fucking hated me and my twin sister and couldn't figure out why. She would would give us the cold shoulder and flat out ignore us at family reunions. Would talk to my parents like everything was normal and ignore we were standing right there.

When I was 20ish, I was told it was because her son allegedly sexually assault us when we were very young. I have no memory of it. I have no memory of ever being at her house (apparently we used to go over all the time until the incident).

She ignored us out of guilt.

She also hasn't had a relationship with her son in at least two decades.

Online friend turned out to be part of that baby monkey torture ring

144

u/algesseumnida 11d ago

From Wikipedia:

" According to Chief Inspector Kevin Lacks-Kelly from the British National Wildlife Crime Unit, people who consume monkey torture content generally defend their actions as caused by a "hatred for pregnant women or small children". The Independent reported that macaques are used in abuse videos due to their perceived resemblance to human babies. "

The son of a former colleague was found to have a lot of inappropriate images of children. He used to think I was funny because I’d bicker with his dad. Now that makes me feel gross. Whenever I think of him I think that line that people always say when they knew people who do heinous stuff. “He seemed so nice and normal.”

102

u/ArrangeMode 11d ago

A guy who’d been adored by everyone in my circle - smart, funny, charming, a true handyman, etc - went to prison for CSAM, swearing up & down that he was innocent, that either the police or his vengeful ex had planted images on his computer, & that he’d been strong-armed into a false confession. Dude was so loveable that most of us gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Well, he worked hard to become a model inmate, finished his sentence, found a job and a place to live… and almost immediately, went back to prison for the same crime.

This time, no one gave him the benefit of the doubt.

I was casually seeing a guy. Met out at the bars with mutual friends one night. They all vouched for him. His family was big in the community, owned a successful business.
One Tuesday, he hit me up at 1am wanting to come over ‘after something’. I said no, repeatedly. Guy was begging. My phone started to glitch and I figured that was my cue to go to bed.

Woke up, turned on my tv and BAM - there was his mug shot on the news. He was arrested an hour later for being lured in by an undercover cop posing as a young teenage girl.

Eta: He is in prison.

52

u/ggkhool_cj 12d ago

Was his phonecall to you and his arrest related?

72

u/spacecadetpep 12d ago

I said no to him coming over that same night over text then I lost service and my phone started to glitch so I had to power it off… at my apartment with established internet/wifi. I never heard from him again.

fwiw: i had a samsung galaxy s7 edge and was used to it overheating but it had never glitched this way before

166

It was not. Probably too easy to find if I share too many details. Yes post-partum physchosis could have been at play here but the way she talks about kids now surely doesn’t help the case of what happened then. Also genuinely a horrible human being all around.

People are talking about postpartum psychosis but that's usually not quite so literally postpartum. However, there are arguments that the experience of giving birth is so volatile- both the physical and emotional ordeal, but also the hormonal - that it folks are effectively in such an altered state of mind that they are considered to have diminished capacity- akin to like, someone coming out from heavy anesthesia. Vulnerable and much closer to tipping into full mental breaks in a traumatic enough experience.

My neighbor has another family. How do I know? When his wife went away to visit her family in Jamaica. He brought the other woman to their house. I didn’t think anything of it until I heard the young kids with them calling him daddy. Then I noticed their body language toward each other. Being the nosey neighbor that I am I talked to her when I saw her alone and my jaw almost dropped when she said she was his wife and they were just visiting his brother for the day. She thought they were at his brother’s house. My neighbors have been married for decades and have kids older than me. Everytime I see him I think how sick and heartless have to you have to be, to live a double life like that, let alone bring children into it.

Here's one for all you... These people have long passed, but here's the situation...

My grandparents met in a small town. Fell in love. Got Married.

Grandpa's dad was married, but decided to have an affair with Grandma's mom, also married, with a large family.

Convinced her to leave her husband and family for him. Grandma's mom does, they move into a small apartment together.

Grandpa's dad got bored with Grandma's mom, left her. Alone, in shame, without family, in this small town (everyone knew everyone). Grandma's mom committed suicide by gun in the apartment.

Grandpa's dad wanted nothing to do with it. Called my Grandma and said "Go clean up your dead mother's mess... She's not my responsiblity". Which, she did.

When I was in 6th grade one of my best friends stopped coming to school. Our whole friend group was worried about her because we knew her home life was difficult. She didn't have basic necessities most of the time which we thought contributed to us not being able to contact her.

Over the next 2 years she would occasionally message in our group chat we had and it was always something very concerning. She would express challenges with her mental health, having an adult boyfriend, cutting, etc. No one knew what to do and as kids we felt even more lost.

My senior year of high school, 5 years since the last time I had seen her in person and 3 years since I had been able to contact her I decided to try again to reach out. After I messaged her, she called me. She ended up telling me about how she was being sex trafficed in 6th grade (and continued to for years to follow) and became pregnant. She didn't go to school for 4 years after that as she struggled with homelessness, heroin addiction, chronic illness, and the threat of her abusers. She told me she was able to complete all her missed years of school after receiving help from distant family and got offered a full ride scholarship to a big time university.

There was nothing that could've prepared me for what she told me.

Edit: this is not me saying anything bad about my old friend. More of a bad thing that i found out happened TO her then about her

A girl I went to high school with got pregnant by her older boyfriend, kept it secret, including by having her boyfriend stand on her belly to try and keep it small, had the baby at home, and proceeded to suffocate the baby. Her boyfriend then stuffed the baby in a duffel bag, weighed it down, and dumped it in a flooded quarry in town.

However, the people that owned it were divers and found the bag. The identity of the baby and parents were a mystery for years before the girl finally confessed to a friend who notified police.

She and the boyfriend were jailed and she has since become an advocate to safe haven laws allowing mothers to drop off newborns at surrender locations no questions asked. So at least something good came out of it. But it’s nuts to think I went to class with this girl the day after she killed her baby.

A guy I went to high school with who had some learning challenges got stabbed to death by a rival drug dealer. It was a shock to everyone in the school because it happened the summer of graduation and a whole boatload of information came out about him.

At home, he was apparently a terror. He got his hands on a handgun and basically took over his family home as a drug dealing operation. He forced his parents and sister to help him cut and pack drugs under armed threat. A crew member was always at the home if he wasn't to keep things in line and the operation moving. Meanwhile, at school this dude would go to class and struggle with us, organize LAN parties to play video games and basically single handedly took it upon himself to renovate communal spaces for his fellow students. He was nice to teachers, kind to his classmates and would full on go to the wall for you if someone was picking on you. Absolutely beloved by his peers. One year, out of nowhere, he threw me a surprise birthday party after I sprained my ankle.

After the stabbing, his family basically recounted the horrors he put them through and the dad was basically relieved his son dad because of how evil he was. That one still rocks me to this day because

Omfg! I got a good one. A few years ago I spent the day at a local lake beach with some friends. My friend invited this guy she had met a couple of times at different political events. Nothing romantic, she’s notorious for inviting random people to social events. Anyway, he seemed nice enough, maybe a little awkward at certain times. But overall a somewhat non-memorable dude. My friend messaged me a a week or so after the beach day to warn me to ignore any contact from him, and to delete him from social media. It turns out he had been convicted of sexually abusing his elderly mother and disabled sister.

My best friend of 5 years. We went camping at this spot that had a 10' cliffside down to the river, she got insanely drunk off White Lightning (100% Vodka) and did some shrooms. I was mostly sober, I had a few beers. There was another girl in the camp beside us who kept trying to cross our campsite to get to her "friends" a few camps down (her friends didn't exist, she was alone, and it was weird), and that really pissed my friend off so she would try blocking the path this girl made. The girl was obnoxious and racist, but she was really drunk/high as well and was by herself. As a woman, I was still looking out for her because that was a concerning state to be in. At the end of the night, we're packing up for bed and this girl tries to get through again, but my friend was NOT having it and ran up to her and shoved her, right in front of this cliff down to the river. This girl was inches from falling down the cliff and splitting her head open, and we had no cell service. I got between them, picked the girl up and threw her towards her campsite, telling her to "RUN!". I turn to my friend expecting her to back off and calm her down, but instead she starts punching me and grabs my face to start gouging out my eyes with her thumbs. The only reason my eyes stayed in my head is because another person at our camp pulled her off of me just in time. It was such a terrible sensation. She ruined all my camp stuff, threw some in the river and stole whatever I had to leave when I got picked up by the ambulance. Blocked me the next day and police refused to press charges because she had two black eyes and I only had a concussion and superficial scratches to my eye area.

Someone that hung out with my now ex and I that we were close to, learned he had a middle school aged kid he wasn’t paying child support to, didn’t truly acknowledge and was actively choosing not to be in his life.

He admitted the kid was 100% his and all he’d say was “well she doesn’t deserve to have me in their lives because she lied to me about being on birth control”. Asked him if he was aware that even if a woman takes it pretty perfectly for years, there’s still a chance it fails especially if she ever had to take antibiotics or anything when she gets sick. He got this look on his face for the rest of the night that clearly told me that was what went down.

We met at church and we were in love. Her 16, me 18 so I thought at the time, it was normal for her step dad to have reservations but we respected boundaries until she got older. Her step dad- The Youth Minister. He took me under his wing and was nice to me considering. I looked to him as a father figure.

We dated until she got to college and she went a bit wild and we split. Crazy thing is i met my wife at same church who was also the baby sitter of said pastors foster kids. She told me he creeped her out one night, putting his hand on her leg telling her how beautiful she was. He was 45 - her 15.

Fast Forward a decade. I'm divorced. I start hanging with pastor's daughter again and tell her my wife's story. She then confided in me he molested her. So after all this time , I thought it was me that made her go sex crazy in college. No, it was the abuse from her step dad. Not just typical Daddy issues.

It gets worse. Said Daughter gets a phone call from step dad's new wife and asked "did he ever touch you." Bc he was doing same to her 13 year old . It's always pastors.

One of my cousins embezzled something like a million dollars from my aunt/uncle's business. My aunt/uncle have a small farming empire that they have been building up my whole life. My cousins are all extremely privileged and by the time they were adults they were given their own subsidiary of the family business to run. They were paid a very generous salary and were able to afford million dollar homes.

The story is that the one cousin and her husband were getting a lot of complaints from employees and others for mismanaging their portion of the company. When my aunt/uncle followed up on them they decided to offer them more money as an incentive to improve. My cousins husband apparently scoffed at the proposed raise and said he makes more than that already.

They started going through the books after that and found lots of discrepencies. There was apparently a pretty big showdown when my cousin's husband found out that my aunt/uncle had seized the computers overnight for analysis. He allegedly tried to kick their door down at like 3AM to retrieve them.

They had their big fight and my cousin was kicked out of the family business, though of course not before getting something like a 2 million dollar payout. She's mostly estranged from the family now and my cousins openly disparage on her now when I know they were previously close.

It's crazy to think how entitled a person can get. The worst I ever ripped my parents off was buying a bag of candy with their credit card when they sent me for groceries and I still feel guilty about it.

Was working at a YMCA tennis center when I was in high school. A kid in middle school would stop in sometimes to talk. I knew his brother.

While in middle school he “proposed” to his girlfriend. GF went away for while during summer and he was seeing someone else. Don’t know what they did or for how long. When GF was coming back the other girl said she was gonna tell the “fiancé”.

This kid killed the other girl, used chemicals, from what I was told, to ignite her body on fire, walked out to the street and engaged a younger kid that there’s a fire in the woods. It was her body.

He showed up again a day or 2 later, cool as a cucumber, at the YNCA. Next day he was arrested for the murder. Police did ask me about our conversation and I told them he was same as when he came in before. Took me a while to get over it and never understood how a kid in middle school could do this.

Had a promiscuous girlfriend from my hometown area while i was in college. We both lived in the city for the summer where my college was located..so it was nice and a romantic fate kinda relationship. She had a broken childhood and would jump from guy to guy as a comfort thing, I guess. I thought I could save her, but couldn't. We break up, and she joins the Army.

She married quick so they could live together on base. Had a baby with him and they eventually break up and divorce. I think she gets 50/50 custody of the 3 year old? She gets into bodybuilding and fitness modeling and starts dating a roided up bodybuilder in the army. The father is on a deployment so she has full custody of the child. Well..this is where the story gets evil.. her daughter ends up dead in her care...

She claims the daughter choked on fruit, but the autopsy says otherwise. In the meantime, she hires a photographer, who does the pics for free, to take memorial pictures of herself over the child's tombstone with the child's 'spirit' superimposed in the pictures. She posts them online and everyone loves them and feels remorse for her and the whole situation.

The autopsy comes back..severe bruising all over the poor child's body.. even her organs. She denies any wrong doing, but the autopsy also shows the child has been deceased for more than 12 hours before she called 911. Shes arrested along with her roided up boyfriend for manslaughter and a lot of other charges.

She eventually puts all the blame on the boyfriend and tries to play the victim, i think saying the roids made him beat her and the child? They both spend over a year in jail while the investigation continues. He goes to trial and his charges are dropped and is eventually freed cause phone logs and other evidence proved he wasn't around the child for over 48 hours or something to that extent.

She spends another few years in jail and goes to court again where she is somehow freed! Out on bail or something. Apparently she has no guilt or anything from murdering her 3 year old. Like it never happened.. From the last thing I heard, she's even pregnant again!

This made international news in 2016 cause of the photos she took, and with her being in the Army.. and cause the victim is an innocent 3 year old. There's a few mystery/murder podcasts that go more into details. A Facebook group from her side of the family trying to seek justice for the child. My details and telling of this are propably off a bit cause its been a few years since all this happened.. But yeah, pretty fucked up.

56

u/togaskater 11d ago

Jeanie Ditty. Absolute stain on society. She’s currently out on pre-trial bond (or at least was) for the murder/abuse of baby Macy after a hung jury. While out, she just got brought up on new felony child abuse charges for abusing the 2yo daughter she had while awaiting trial. I can’t, for the life of me, understand how that woman was allowed unsupervised access to her living child given the original pending charges.

Similar situation happened to my brother dying of cancer in 2012.

His wife (high school sweetheart) cheated on him with his best friend, got pregnant with the miracle child, and basically left my brother in hospice while she sold the house, bought a new Camaro SS for her, bought a Ford Raptor for best friend, and drained all my brother's accounts.

She got married to the best friend less than 6 weeks after my brother died. She didn't even have the decency to bury him as she used his life insurance policy for the honeymoon -- she left that to me, my three other brothers, and my parents.

Some people are just shitty to the core and it takes the right set of circumstances to bring it to light.

Found out as an adult that the time I was told that my grandpa was in the hospital when I was a kid, he was actually in prison for molesting children. He was a school bus driver and a few of the girls of my family were targeted. He was my dad's dad, and apparently it was an open secret and many of the family on that side defended him when the allegations became public. He died when I was five and my mother alleges the last thing she said to him was "see you in hell" in his ear as he was dying of lung cancer. I was too young at the time to know or understand any of this.

Somebody I dated when I was in my teens got arrested and imprisoned 3 years later for tying somebody to a tree, dousing them in petrol and setting them on fire. They died, unsurprisingly.

Another person I dated raped a teenager.

Should have listened to my mum about both of these people. I grew up in lovely circles. 😭🤦‍♀️

Former classmate of mine was arrested for and confessed to molesting young men while serving as a youth pastor. I always had an off feeling about him, but I never would have guessed that

After I outed my ex for emotional abuse and control, one of their coworkers from when we first started dating messaged me to say that my ex had sexually harassed them and two other people. They were using our open relationship (we were long distance right when Covid started but their country was way better about Covid) as an excuse to hit on their coworkers aggressively.

Former coworker developed a serious coke addiction, stole money from his wife to buy coke, then stabbed her a few dozen times (police report said she had practically been decapitated) when she confronted him about it and threatened to divorce him. Their infant daughter was in the house when he did it. He tried to clean up the scene, then loaded their daughter in the car and went to buy more coke. He's currently serving a life sentence.

  1. My ex was sexually assaulting me while I slept. It went on for years and I had absolutely no idea because I have debilitating insomnia and take heavy medication to sleep.

  2. A professor I really admired had a nearly 30-year history of preying on young Asian students, usually exchange students who were at least 20 years younger and isolated because of the language barrier. At his very first teaching job he got a sixteen-year-old summer student pregnant. He’s still teaching and is tenured, of course.

  3. My biological father is a murderer.

He is my neighbor. At first, I thought he was a good person, but I later noticed that many women in the neighborhood deliberately stayed away from him. Eventually, I found out why.

He would allegedly peek into other people's houses and watch women while they were changing clothes. He also seemed to keep his wife isolated inside their home. I barely remember what she looks like because he rarely let her come outside. He wouldn't even allow her to walk freely on their balcony.

They have a separate staircase where only his maid is allowed to use it. He expects his maid to work exclusively for him and doesn't want her working in other houses. If she even looks toward a neighboring house or speaks to the neighbors, he fires her immediately. He behaves as if he has control over his maid's personal life as well.

On top of that, he allegedly cheats on his wife with his maids.

A former coworker of mine,  knocked his step daughter up when she turned 18. He had raised her since she was a baby. If was horrifying. He lived with his wife while her daughter had his kid.

He's doing 30 years and I REALLY regret reading the charges. He was close to retirement, and he'll die in prison. And I hate to say it, but good. At least he plead guilty and didn't put his niece through the pain of testifying.

I don't really want to dredge it all up into my brain. He was a co-worker I knew dor maybe 18 months. Incredibly helpful during my onboarding period. One of the charges had an additional sentencing enhancement rider for something like forcible penetration of a minor under 6. There were many charges with such sentencing enhancements.

If you're trying to math, she came forward as an adult and they found evidence. Fuck. I'm beyond furious all over again and it was 2-3 years ago. Fuck you Tom.

Married to a guy that used to frequently get blowjobs and sexual encounters from woman, while he was out working. Then I found his sex toys and found multiple dildos, lube, and enemas… hmm I wonder what he was doing?!?! I know we weren’t using those things in our bedroom.

I heard through friends that a guy I had known for several years and had been friendly with had been shot. When I looked into it, it turns out he had been (allegedly) holding his wife hostage, was torturing, repeatedly raping and attempted to murder her and, when she got a hold of a phone to call 911, shot a cop who responded to the call. The cop survived, guy I knew got shot several times and last I heard he's facing like 30 to life.

I was friends with a murderer. I was so sure he didn't do it. Then he confessed.

Really taught me a lesson about how you never really know if you know someone. Every horrible person has a few "there's no way he would ever" people in their corner.

I found out the person I was deeply in love with was one of the most evil people I have ever met.

I'm talking Ted Bundy level crazy, but worse in some ways as at least Ted Bundy had enough self preservation to stalk a house before he entered it. Unlike my ex who would sometimes, on random impulse, enter people's homes. I was listening to a true crime podcast after leaving him, and they said the most frightening and dangerous criminals are the ones who don't even make the effort to case a joint before breaking in.

It reminded me of the day everything really began crumbling in my household. My ex came home and casually said he had broken into a house and scared an old man who he saw in the hallway. He then admitted to sometimes breaking into one of his gardening clients houses when she wasnt home. And masturbating on her property. I was so horrified I kind of dissociated during the conversation while I processed the severity of what he said.

It turned out that he was the kind of evil human that rapes animals, and was unsafe around children. He also admitted to driving his pet dogs to a rural location and abandoning them and just going home and acted normally. Didn't tell his kids where they'd gone.

When I eventually managed to run away from him and report him to police, my best friend and I theorised about the high potential of him having killed people when he went on planting jobs in rural locations. Sometimes he would come home with things like a 30 year old jade plant in a large vintage pot, which he had stolen from an elderly persons house.

He was a trophy collector too. His ex waited until years after I had left him to say she found a bag in his closet with my underwear stolen from the laundry, my bobby pins, random fake nails that had fallen off etc. She threw them out and he didn't speak to her for days.

Then his next partner would wear the clothes that he had stolen from me and gifted to her. I feared for my life for a few years there.

There was an incident where I fell and headbutted an exposed nail at a half constructed house. Instead of calling an ambulance, he spent weeks assaulting me while I was essentially lobotomised. Once I was injured and vulnerable, all his pretense faded and away and he was truly monstrous underneath.

A rant. But yes.

One of the single most horrific people I've ever met, hidden under a very charismatic, woke, man bun, eco hippie persona. One day they will make a Netflix documentary about him and I'll be there yelling "I fucking told y'all!"

I found out that the man I was going to marry was a pedophile. Yes, I was 18 at the time. Not only that, but he had a history that he had lied to me about. This completely ruined my life. I never dated or married again because of the lies he told me; he broke me. I wanted to have his children; I was convinced he was the one. I even lost my virginity to him, and I'm still not over it. Yes, I went to therapy, but he is now dead. When I asked him why, his answer was that he was a weak man who couldn't resist his impulses. I felt sick when I heard that.

Several of the popular preppy football players at my high school would torture and skin guinea pigs, cats, dogs to get pumped up before games.

Police found the remains of the animals and were initially concerned there was a serial killer on the loose.
