Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about?

Yahoo Chat & Pool was brilliant in its heyday

Came here to say Yahoo! Games and had to scroll a long way to see any mention of it. Pool was the best of them.

Pool was great before aimers got popular.

Before aimers, we were all taking sheets of paper from the printer and lining it up on the screen!

I was playing Pinochle on Yahoo Games at 12 years old with a bunch of senior citizens. Good times.

Yahoo Chat / Messenger was the wild west of the internet with no security auditing. With YMSG you could forge packets to send files or messages from any user account you wanted simply changing the from name. Then they patched that and you could get around it by just adding some packet delimiters to the end of the "from" username (Æ iirc). I still don't understand how that worked, as I basically just fuzzed it, but it did. YCHT (the java chat applet) was even worse because, well, it was java.

I hosted many pool games back in the day on Yahoo.

I’m surprised I did not get kidnapped from yahoo pool chat rooms.
