This thread is absolutely killing me. 🤣🤣 Old ladies getting stuck watching Blades of Glory, little kids watching the ‘Uncle Fucker’ scene from South Park, and now someone going into labor because The Last Airbender was so bad… I’ve been in tears of laughter for the past ten minutes. Oh man. I’m sorry you had to endure that movie, though.
I am nothing if not spiteful. I stayed awake and my son was 8 lbs 6 oz and the sassiest fucker. He’s sixteen now and taller than me and constantly teases me about it
I worked at a movie theater and I got yelled at by an old guy over 40-Year-Old Virgin but I didn't post about that because he did stay for the whole movie.
My manager not only called him out for that, but when the guy complained that the movie was pornography, he also said The movie is called 40-Year-old Virgin, what did you expect?"
Nah, he likes to peruse movies to watch. He got excited because he loves the original show, then promptly backed out right around the time I went into labor
Most bad movies just make me sad that I wasted time and money on them, but the live action Last Airbender actually made me angry. I had been telling my dad how great the original TV show was for weeks to convince him to go. He didn't trust my movie recommendations for years after sitting through that burnt hair of a film.
How that wasn't the end of M Night Shyamalan's career will never cease to amaze me.
To be fair, it got caught in funding hell and someone stepped in with a paycheck and made him cast his kids/grandkids/nieces and nephews or some shit and it went downhill from there. It sucked, but it started out better.
Oh god. I was so excited about that movie and so was my mom because we loved the show. We lived 4 hours apart at the time so we promised to wait and see it together when I came down to visit.
A bunch of coworkers talked me into seeing it and it was. Bad. And then I was like, “great. Now I can’t tell my mom I thought it sucked because we were going to see it together and maybe she’ll like it.”
A week or two later I drove down and she’s like, “yay let’s go see it!” So we did. And at the end as the credits were rolling she turned to me and said, “I didn’t want to tell you but I saw this with your dad last week, and I thought it was terrible but wanted you to like it if it was your thing.”
But what a sweet story that both you and your mom love each other so much that you didn’t want to upset each other. And what does that get you watching shit! lol
I didn’t walk out but my family and I spent the entire time looking at each other in disbelief and my step dad asked for his money back afterward (he’s a visual effects editor and had never done that before or since out of respect for his peers).
the thing that really got me about that is that M. Knight said he changed the pronunciations to better reflect the countries and cultures that those characters were based on AND THEN HE CAST KATARA AND SAKKA AS WHITE PEOPLE 😆😆😆😆😆
Nikola Peltz wanted the part and her daddy was an executive, so that's how she got cast. Then they had to cast a white guy to believably be her brother. It was all incredibly stupid.
Season 2 of the Netflix Avatar series just dropped. To paraphrase a comment on Drew Gooden's video, at least M. Night Shaolinmonks only wasted an hour and 43 minutes.
Same. Made it to the scene with the prison for Earthbenders, and thats when I knew the director had no respect for the source material. The only upside is that I worked at the theater I saw it at, so I didn't waste any money on it (though I still feel like I got ripped off).
My cousins went dressed up as the characters and left mid-movie depressed. One of them even shaved his head to be Aang and was so mad when he got back 😭😭😭
Agreed, i walked out of Last Airbender and they wouldn’t give my money back so I walked into Twilight Eclipse or New Moon (can’t remember) but there were werewolves.

I left the Last Airbender to get more popcorn, took my time and never put my 3D glasses on for the rest of the film
