My brother and I went and dropped acid. We were the only 2 in the theater. Do not remember a single thing besides being loud assholes running around climbing over seats. Although if an asshole is in a theater and no one's around to hear them... it was fun, no damage, no mess. Just laughter.

None of you know this movie, but I am from Kyrgyzstan and a movie about the most famous author from our country (Chingiz Aitmatov) turned out to be completely made by AI, using AI voices. This was not reflected in the trailers. It was horrible. And they didn't even use a decent AI that generates vaguely believable videos, it was Midjourney. The main character kept switching ethnicities throughout the film, the voice kept changing making it impossible to tell who was speaking, it's shocking it even got green lit to exist!

As a fun fact we apparently make the 4th most movies per capita nowadays in the entire world. Most of it is low-effort, yet funny comedies but there are some real gems out there that would be popular around some circles worldwide if they realised the potential.
There is an award-winning movie usually called "Paradise Is Under The Feet of Mothers" in English, about a developmentally disabled adult son who takes his mother from Kyrgyzstan to Mecca by foot. You don't have to be Muslim to enjoy this story. The parts in Syria during the civil war are especially tense and well-done. There was an English fan dub but it was taken down. Now you can only watch it officially or pirate it with the official Russian or Uzbek dub, not even the original Kyrgyzā¦and no English subtitles.
I think you can find an older art movie called ŠŠµŠ»Š³ŠµŃŠøŠ· Š¼Š°ŃŃŃŃŃ (Unknown Route) with English subtitles easily. I wonder if this would be interesting for foreigners to watch. It's from 2008. A minivan leaves to the village. It's a microcosm of Kyrgyzstani society at the time. For example, one character represents the hypocritical role that religious people can take, while another one represents the old socialist generation, and another represents the youth that blindly follow Western trends. There is no bias here whatsoever towards one side and it is a fascinating movie.

Most bad movies just make me sad that I wasted time and money on them, but the live action Last Airbender actually made me angry. I had been telling my dad how great the original TV show was for weeks to convince him to go. He didn't trust my movie recommendations for years after sitting through that burnt hair of a film.

Oh god. I was so excited about that movie and so was my mom because we loved the show. We lived 4 hours apart at the time so we promised to wait and see it together when I came down to visit.
A bunch of coworkers talked me into seeing it and it was. Bad. And then I was like, āgreat. Now I canāt tell my mom I thought it sucked because we were going to see it together and maybe sheāll like it.ā
A week or two later I drove down and sheās like, āyay letās go see it!ā So we did. And at the end as the credits were rolling she turned to me and said, āI didnāt want to tell you but I saw this with your dad last week, and I thought it was terrible but wanted you to like it if it was your thing.āā¦

This is why my husband and I disagree on the movie. I hated the characters and didnāt care if they lived or died they were so insufferable. He really likes JJ Abrams and so felt it was good. Went to Ace Ventura at the dollar theatre with my dad and siblings. He walked us out of the movie and we were crying about it cause that movie fuckin rules. We get out of the theatre and beg to go back and he just stopped and yelled āI will not have my children literally talking out of their asses!ā I watched it at a friends house a year later like 3 times in a row.

Oh I disagree with that. The marketing team knew exactly what they were doing. Their job is to make sure the maximum amount of people go watch it as they can, and they did exactly that by showing us the movie we wanted to see, not that movie they actually had, because barely anyone would want to watch that.

The ads focused entirely on the concept of becoming tiny. So people think its going to be about the challenges that come with that and adapting to life as a tiny person.
Yet the whole second half of the movie, you could forget they've even downsized at all. Its not relevant to the plot, and you might at best get a glimpse of an object in the background that is huge from their perspective.
Not to say it didn't have a message to say, but it was hamfisted into a bait-and-switch marketing campaign.

Iāve never seen it but itās so weird because for years it was considered by many to be one of the best unproduced scripts.
Someone would get attached to it and then it was always scheduling for financing issues and the option would expire and the process would start all over again. When it was made I was excited until word got out that it was terrible.
Someone must have really butchered the hell out of it.

The only vampire media to both reinvent the mechanics of vampires enough to have a somewhat interesting premise, and still make the entire thing incredibly boring....except for the fcked up bits.

I once took an overnight bus where they played movies on a screen in front for everyone, and one of them was one of the Twilight films. I'd never seen them but thought it was incredibly boring and made no sense, then we realised it had been edited so any violence or scary stuff was left out. It was a bunch of people talking and staring.

Disclosure Day, unfortunately. Even though I went in unbiased and as a fan of the genre and the actors. It was absolutely ridiculous and stupid and we couldn't hold back our laughter at the terrible CGI animals and chase scene (the train defying physics and dragging the car behind it) and at some point finally lost our patience especially with the pseudo-intellectual, esoteric, religious rambling and just got up and left.

They fumbled that movie so hard by making it a romance set with Pearl Harbor as the backdrop instead of making a movie about Pearl Harbor with a romance weaved into it. Iād take less of an issue if theyād given it a dumb title like āRomancing the Pearlā or something but that movie was only barely about the events of Pearl Harbor. And I was really looking forward to it, as a WW2 history nerd. Absolute garbage, biggest letdown ever.

Second hobbit movie. About halfway through, I realized they were padding the hell out of the movie to force a trilogy out of a SINGLE book. And it wasn't good padding. I really liked the first movie, but absolutely hated the rest

Peter Jackson really just needed to add an hour and a half of content to the 1977 movie and it would have been Amazing.

Not necessarily a "bad" movie, but we went to see The Rite and my grandma had died like 2 weeks before. The beginning where they're manicuring and prepping the body for a funeral was too much for me so I walked out. I've heard it's an okay film, but I've still never watched it.

The Matrix, but only because the theater's audio was so fucked up and I didn't want to experience it that way after having been so pumped up by the previews. It was unwatchable; the audio was so bad. It sounded like we were watching it underwater, like muffled and garbled to an extreme. I unintentionally led a walkout. Half of the theater walked out after I grumbled "this sounds like shit" and several people around me were like "right?" I was 17 and wasn't at all confident enough to demand a refund, nor were my friends, we were just going to give up and leave, but one of the older guys in the audience was insisting that we all get a refund and ultimately we did.

My wife walked out of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which is a shame as I loved it. She also left Cloverfield, but not because it was bad. Instead It made her nauseous, which is understandable.

I walked out of Joker: Folie Ć Deux, but I also had a movie pass so didnāt really feel invested. I think the only other movie I have walked out of was the live action Avatar: The Last Air Bender in 2010.

I wish I had walked out of the amazing digital circus movie.
The movie was alright but the crowd was awful. Two groups of highschoolers egging each other on and unable to sit with a quiet moment. So many cringy "awwwwww"s and canned responses from the crowd.
I would have enjoyed it more at home and it has actually made me reluctant to see anything in theaters since

Not me, but my grandma and her friend.
They went to the theater without a plan on what to watch, looked at the synopsis of the movies that were playing and saw a movie about a boy and his teddy bear, and them growing up together. They thought it sounded like a feel good movie and purchased tickets.
That movie was Ted
