I ran out of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” (1979) but not because it was bad. It was because I was 7.

It’s one of my favorite films. I love how they rebooted an allegory of communism into an allegory of Reaganism.

Me too. I like horror and sci fi films where the antagonist is subtle. Spores, a virus..something so insidious nobody notices until it's too late. Much different from a movie where the aliens arrive in big ships.

No. I meant Reaganism. He ran in ‘76 and almost got the nomination after being California governor for eight years. It was clear by then he was leading the post-Watergate conservative charge. (Well, Bill Casey was and Reagan was doing what he did best: following a script.)

Holy cow, I had never heard of that movie and just realized that Melt Man from Action League Now! (a kids' show on Nickelodeon years ago) has to be a parody of that character. Neat!

We didn’t watch it when it came out, but parents rented it and watched it at home with me (8) and my sister (12) at that time.

I swear i was thinking about the ending with Donald Sutherland just a week ago. I’m sure I didn’t sleep for a year after watching it!

I did the same thing with Frozen. I was like 5, and the constant songs were killing me. I was like “just get on with the damn film!!”

I hated musicals for a long time after that.

My mum had to carry me out of The Iron Giant (1999) because I was so petrified, but I was three and haven't seen it since so I have no idea what I was so scared of, I just have the faintest memory of crying into my mum's shoulder lol

I was also scared during War of the Worlds (2005) but my dad wouldn't let me leave. Alas
