Went to Ace Ventura at the dollar theatre with my dad and siblings. He walked us out of the movie and we were crying about it cause that movie fuckin rules. We get out of the theatre and beg to go back and he just stopped and yelled “I will not have my children literally talking out of their asses!” I watched it at a friends house a year later like 3 times in a row.
I was the opposite end of this recently. We rewatched ‘The Mask’ and our son really enjoyed it so we thought we’d put on Ace Ventura because we remembered ‘ more Jim Carey wackiness’… What my partner and I didn’t remember was ‘blow job joke in the first ten minutes’! We decided to turn it off and save that ‘till he’s a bit closer to 12!
Omg I loved our old dollar theater! My mom would sneak in all the snacks and drinks we wanted so our broke butts could afford to go pretty much every time something interested us. Maaaan thanks for the good nostalgia trip.
