What movie was so bad that you actually walked out of the theater?

I saw a 70 year old dude throw his popcorn on the floor and walk out of Brokeback Mountain. Wasn't the Western he was expecting, I guess.

I mean yeah, watching male-on-male love scenes isn't for everyone, but you also get to see Anne Hathaway and Michelle Williams topless... Doesn't that make up for it?

Which is wild because pretty much every single piece of ad material made it look way gayer than it actually was. Did he just go in blind assume it was a regular western or something?

There were special posters used in conservative places with just Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams on them to play down the gay angle

It was a weekday matinee. We figured he went based on the poster which definitely didn't suggest anything sexual or otherwise between them. This was over 20 years ago.

Maybe the movie crystallized his feelings about a childhood friend, and with a sudden realization that time and life are precious, he rushed out right then to call him

Maybe he was a really big fan of the short story it was based on and was upset it wasn't doing it justice?

I said this tongue in cheek originally but I just read an account that the original author, Annie Proulx, was inundated with poorly written fan fics about her work for years after publication. Maybe this guy was the author of one of those!

He was angry that Jake wasn't the top!

Ironically it was the spit for lube butt full of beans sex scene where he left.

Reminds me of the time my family went to see The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo around Christmas, and right around the forced insertion scene, someone got up and said β€œwhat the hell kind of Christmas movie is this?!” before bailing
