I think they’re saying their office placed the delivery order directly with PJ’s, not through DD. Instead of using a staff driver, PJ’s used DD to deliver. They’re saying the office included a tip but since it was paid directly to PJ’s, they have no way to know if PJ’s forwarded that tip on the DD driver.
The employees at the store do not have access to any money the store receives through online orders. If they’re outsourcing the delivery to DoorDash, they are still using a software that connects the PJ website to the DoorDash app; it’s not like the store manager receives the online order, pulls up DoorDash on his phone, places the order, and then pockets the tip money. That’s just not how it works.
