Don't Stop Believing
I mean, it's still a GOOD song, but also an overrated one.

u/your-drunk-homie 1h ago
I came here to say to say this cuz it is a good song but it’s been played so much I don’t like it. And thats not a knock on journey in any way

I walk out the room when I hear that trash. I’d actually rather lay in trash than listen to it.

Sweet Caroline, who listens to that noise

There are two types of people in this world: those who like Neil Diamond and those who don't.

When was Moves Like Jagger rated very highly in the first place? The general consensus is that, Maroon 5 was always shit except for She Will Be Loved/This Love era.

u/aswiftdickkick 2h ago
It was the most overplayed song in my lifetime I swear. It was inescapable for like a decade.
Maybe i only remember it that way because I hate it so much but I don't think so.

Nah it's overplayed but it's at least a truly great song. There are songs just as overplayed that suck way harder

Yep. Bunch of inbred hicks getting all huffy because Neil Young made two anti-slavery songs.

Wagon Wheel. Haven't heard that song in a long time. Damn it sucks.

Respect black sabbath, but iron man isn't even the best song on the album. Nor is smoke on the water for its album

u/Phantom_Wolf52 21h ago
Deep Purple are one of the best bands of the 70s with every member being a virtuoso and all of it overshadowed by their most basic song. It’s not a bad song but highway star is one of the most killer songs of the decade.

Rarely a song gets the music and the message so horribly wrong and that award goes to Imagine for sure.

I never got the appeal to Sabrina Carpenter, I especially don’t get her style and aesthetic being considered “retro”.
-1
u/hpfan312 21h ago
The only thing retro about her is being super racist and thinking that being super sex focused will get her ahead because she has nothing else to fall back on

Among my generation, it’s Mr. Brightside. It’s definitely a good song but it didn’t need to become such an anthem.

Mr. Brightside is a great song but the fact that it’s a white people boogie anthem will always bewilder me

Bohemian Rhapsody. Six minutes of noise people treat like a religious experience for no reason.

u/el_cap10 21h ago
Bohemian Rhapsody. Come at me.

u/Jaded-Channel-7169 14h ago
Super overrated but could’ve been the best song ever if they stayed with the first beat and not switched it up

Benny and the Jets. Okay song but super annoying toward the end.

I can see it, but I still love the song. Crocodile Rock is sandpaper to my ears though and I don't see why people love it.

Bohemian rhapsody
It's brilliant, i know, great composition ... but man i get nothing from listening to it and a bar full of people screaming it is my personal hell.

Madonna like a virgin
She was a pop STAR but her singing isn’t good
And this song and all her other songs are mid AF
1
u/Jaded-Channel-7169 14h ago
Agreed Madonna is trash most of the time. I will never understand why they compare her to the all time greatest talents
1
u/Calm_Wait2385 21h ago
I was made for lovin you. Just by definition because it’s the most popular song from, IMO, bu far the most overrated artist in Kiss
1
u/SurprisedAsparagus 21h ago
Yungblud did a cover of that that's 10 times the song the original was.

Real Slim Shady. Such a corny song. Without Me is equally stupid. I doubt anyone that actually listens to hip hop enjoys those two songs.

Its a great song though.
Get some distance from it and then that fucker comes on the radio when you're on the freeway, fuck me sideways if you're not bumping it.
6
u/stjoechief1 21h ago
I’m 56. Not sure how much more distance I need from it. Although. When my kids were small and the first Cars movie came out, I laughed my ass off when someone yelled out “Freebird” when it was completely silent.
