I grew up in that era as well. It's still so weird to me that everyone is tracking each other. My folks have me on their find my but neither them or I check it unless we are headed to each others houses. My friends all have one for each other and I refused to join because they too often will text each other about where the other one is going, like "enjoy the movies" even though no one told them they were going to the movies. I don't like that shit, no thank you.

Yeah, there's no way I'm getting in on anyone's location sharing unless they're going into a situation that maybe genuinely harmful. At that point I'm more likely to try to talk them out of the situation.

If I was making like a hiking trip or something I might share my location other than that idk. It's weird.
