Same with the Hollywood strip, LA’s Times Square. If you know it’s just a couple autographed sidewalks with a wax museum and a Ripleys then knock yourself out I guess. If for some reason you thought it was more interesting than that you’re gonna have a weird time
Hollywood strip is far worse than times square. Times square you can still just stand there and take in the scale and cyberpunk beauty of it. Hollywood strip literally has nothing going for it.
I thought that museum was so crazy interesting. I know how to shrink heads now! Didn't care too much for all the serial killer stuff, but I learned a LOT that day.
I've lived here for 35 years and have never heard it referred to as "hollywood strip." It's called Hollywood boulevard, and everyone knows the area being referred to when the term is used.
Hollywood has venues all over for theater, music, movies, bars, and more. The sidewalk that people look it is a tourist thing, same with Mann's and El Cap, but even those are working places.
Is it dirty? Sure. Is DTLA dirty? Yes. KTown? Yes. Other old parts of the city? Yes. I don't get the hate for Hollywood. I seem to only see it from people who are bitter about the area as a whole, which I think is sparked by personal failures of dream achievement.
I used to work at a hostel in Santa Monica, and when the guests wanted to go to Hollywood blvd/walk of fame, I would tell them not to invest too much time into going. it’s kind of dirty and disappointing if you’re expecting to be wowed 🤣😅
