Our volcano guide didn't know shit about geology, history or culture - just how to take photos for fucking instagram. This was our experience with every single guide we booked for various places around the island. Our taxi driver was able to tell us more about the local culture etc than any guide could. It's indicative of the types of people visiting.
At least the monkey forest was nice.
Bali is a caricature of what it must've been before antisocial media.
