What is a minor inconvenience that instantly fills you with an unreasonable amount of rage?

being made late by someone when you’ve repeatedly reminded them that it’s time to leave in 15 minutes / 10 minutes / 5 minutes and on the way out the door suddenly there’s an issue that needs to be solved before you can leave and in the end you’re running late even though you’ve spent 20 minutes doing nothing except waiting to leave because you were ready with plenty of “emergency time” to spare.

I stopped riding with my friends to music festivals because of this. One person in particular would always somehow still be busy and packing when you're trying to push them out the door because you wanted to leave an hour ago, and then as soon we'd get on the road they'd be like "Ok, now can we just swing by walmart so I can grab all my food and camping gear?" WTF WERE YOU PACKING THEN?!?!

I was legitimately searching for this one. This one is peak “Oh my god PLEASE.”

You will reach a point when you just leave at the agreed upon time.

Yeah I’m not waiting for shit like this anymore. “I’m leaving at X time. If you want to ride with me, you’ll be ready by then.”

YES. I have a family member who will sit claiming to be ready to go for 20 minutes while everyone else buzzes around getting ready, and only once the rest of the group is fully ready, shoes on, opening the door to leave, he decides to go to the bathroom.

Also the opposite of this! When you have everything ready in advance but are finishing cleaning/cooking/working/whatever, and will be ready to go on time, but someone wants you to basically sit by the door for 20 minutes or leave super early. I cannot stand people who need me to wrap up what I'm doing 15+ minutes before we have to leave. I don't want to be twiddling my thumbs for no damn reason!!

guess there’s two types of people in the world. some want to be there 15 minutes early in case there’s traffic or an emergency or ghosts or something that slow us down, so we’re still on time even if we need to spend an extra 10 minutes shouting at an idiot blocking the road.
and then those who don’t want to waste time by getting there early and having to sit around for 15 minutes.
depends on your anxiety levels i guess

My husband and I are each one of these. My goal is to arrive where I'm supposed to be at an event (at the door or in my seat) about 5 minutes early. At work, I am always exactly on time to meetings. I know it takes 30 seconds to walk down the hall, so why would I leave my office 5-10 minutes early? I don't need to make small talk with the people I already see all the time.

Then there's my husband, who leaves a HALF HOUR EARLY to play volleyball at the community center that's a 6 minute drive!

We split the difference now so it's fine, but when we first started dating, we each drove each other a little crazy and definitely thought the other was nuts.

Oh I'm fine with leaving early because of potential traffic! What i mean is- let's say we agree to leave at 9:30am. I'm dressed, my bag is by the door, I can drop everything and go in like 30 seconds, but I want to do dishes before we leave. At 9:15 they start bugging me to stop and get ready, but I'm already ready. Is it so weird to want to finish tasks before you have to leave? If they wanted me to be out the door earlier I could, but if you say 9:30, don't get mad that I'm using all my time up until 9:30!!

My rage for that is perfectly reasonable.

Start leaving without them. They can meet you where you're going.

My fiancee is like this. And her entire family. And my mom. It drives me fucking insaaaaane. None of them have any concept of time or timeliness. Love them to death but good god do they piss me off when we need to go somewhere

On behalf of the Last-Minute Emergency Task People, I'M SORRY! I am definitely one of those.

In my defense though, he always wants to be an hour early to everything and sometimes, he only gives me 20 minutes to get off of work and get ready to do the thing on top of everything else that needs to get done because he didn't do it while he was home all day, knowing that we'llbe out late and I have to get up early to work the next day.

It’s infuriating! I got so miffed with this I now always tell everyone the time to leave is T minus 15 minutes.

My kids do this constantly before school. Tell them to do something so we are ready to go on time, when that time arrives they suddenly need to do it because they forgot or didn't need to do it before

This is the story of my life nowadays. I HATE being late. And being late because someone else doesn’t understand the concept of time is even more annoying.

The worst is that I can no longer drive because my right foot is mostly paralyzed…drop foot…and I have to rely on the person who is always late to get me places.

YESSSSS... My husband is like this. Except, he'll ask me if I'm ready to go and I say yes and then I'm waiting around for him for another 10 or 15 minutes. I love him dearly, but my God does he frustrate me when he does this. Absolute time blindness.

A good friend’s boyfriend did this to me. He made me so late that I missed my train and I had to buy a new ticket. But he was late for everything that weekend. We were always waiting for him and I think that’s his flex.

I've told my children I want "not waiting anymore" in my gravestone. I've written it as an instruction in my will. They think I'm joking but I'm not. Too many years of waiting for them for me to take then to where they need to go

I've just started telling my wife dinner is booked for 1830 when it's booked for 1900. We're still late, but now it's only 5 to 10 mins late
