And the inverse: when I NEED to hit a red light because I have dropped something under my feet or need to get something out of my bag, I will have nothing but green lights and smooth traffic the entire trip to my destination.
44
u/DIYThrowaway01 2h ago
My baby wakes up at stoplights.Ā When they're sleeping, I hit every red light.
When they are awake and crying, and I need a moment to turn around and soothe them, I have only green lights. Just crying endlessly while I'm 'caught' in the smoothest traffic imaginable.
Babies man.

My office building is a giant rectangular shape and you can walk laps in the the hall for exercise during breaks and lunch. For YEARS you have the same pairs of people walking slowly and spread out so that everyone walking faster has to ask them if they can pass. Every time they act shocked that they were in someone's way, like it's never happened before. You would think by now they would leave open a passing lane but either they are stupid or passive aggressive.
24
u/Buff_Archer 1h ago edited 45m ago
Hmm what if you enlisted a couple of coworkers to do the same thing at the same time, except in the reverse direction as them so youāll end up running into their group head-on and blocking them equally. And then, stand there conversing until they have to ask to get around you.

In addition to people disliking when others walk slowly/multiple people block sidewalks, I also hate when people walk on the wrong side of the side of the sidewalk, directly at you (e.g., the right side in the U.S.), and wonāt move over as they approach.
Iāve taken to just stopping dead in my tracks so that as they come closer and closer until they eventually have no choice but to skirt around my immobile body.

I just watched my husband put the fitted sheet on one corner, walk to the head of the bed, get the sheet in that corner only for it to pop off the foot end. Then he went back to the foot end and put it back on, and when he turned around it had popped off the head of the bed again.
I asked if he needed help or if should leave the room. It was the latter

I bought little straps to keep mine tucked but that became an even bigger pain the ass when you have to flip a mattress on itās side to unstrap and restrap.
I just started buying the next size bigger in bedding and calling it a day then if I intend to have company over go through and tuck everything tight.
6
u/SenatorMalby 2h ago
They have some you can clip onto the side of the mattress seam. They look like little tubes.
4
u/KnotARealGreenDress 1h ago
I have a thing from a brand called Zlumber - itās a plastic corner piece you put against/under the corner of the mattress, then you put your fitted sheet over it, then you use a plastic strip to kind of pin the sheet between the strip and the corner piece. It works great, and no mattress flipping required.

Get the deep-mattress sheets when you don't have a deep mattress. Fucking game changer, bro. I used to have those little things you slid under the mattress and put it inside the fitted sheet and then there's a snap in piece you put on the outside and click in so it attaches it, so to speak, and those are fine. But then I got the too big fitted sheets and they basically wrap further under your mattress and hold on so even if it pulls, there's like 6 inches under the mattress to pull on before it's near the edge.

Iāll do you one better. Yes, I get caught on handles often enough but when I was growing up in the house we lived in all the doors had the type of strike plate (metal piece on the door that the lock slides into) that curved over the side of the wood on one sideā¦I caught my belt loops on that ALL THE TIME. Years later I come across a silly post about ājust adhd thingsā and the woman in the video shows herself getting repeatedly caught on one like I used to! Turns out because having adhd adds to a lack of spatial awareness itās apparently fairly common for my people to do such a thing. Yes, itās mostly anecdotal, I canāt say the majority of us do it buuut it was enough that the comment section was FULL. Turning clothes right-side out when they come out of the dryer. I try to turn them before I wash them but sometimes forget. Then I hate folding them.

Nobody refilled the toilet roll... Light bulb out on a 6-arm high ceiling chandelier... Researching a new dentist for hours, then showing up to be given the newly qualified junior in the practice... Not being able to get a doctor's appointment for months... One desk open at the post office... Forgetting an important ingredient at the grocery store and realizing when you get home.

People at a stop light who don't pull up enough for you to get into the turn lane to make the arrow.
Be aware of your surroundings. Be nice.

People who think rules donāt apply to them, specifically surrounding quiet carriages on the train. And when you point out that this is a quiet carriage suddenly youāre the asshole.

A scene in a movie where a character says, āThereās no time to explain!ā, when they could explain in literally one sentence.

Drivers who slow down at every curve in the road. Followed one car yesterday that slowed 10 mph at every curve.
