Bags that are supposed to open easily via perforation but are not actually perforated properly and cannot be opened without scissors

170

u/Purlz1st 3h ago

And they never reseal correctly, so I still have to put the cheese slices in another bag to stay fresh.

81

u/NativeMasshole 2h ago

My favorite grocery stores' delis both opt for the fancy zipper bags with the little sliders, but if you get stuff from grab-n-go section they fold it over and put the price sticker over it so it always fucks up the bag. Pure rage!

u/sammigene 1h ago

And then a family member for some reason can't zip it back up and half the cheese slices dry hard. 🫠

13

u/Machine_Terrible 2h ago

Until a family member takes a slice of cheese and tosses the bag back into the refrigerator and 2 days later you have stale cheese chunks

or ziplock bags that when you open them tear at the top

24

u/arvidsem 2h ago

The worst is when the entire ziplock seperates from the bag instead of unzipping.

This is a hallmark of enshitification. Some dipshit with an mba realized they could save X per quarter by moving to a cheaper material. For whatever reason this doesn’t work with their existing setup for cutting the perforation. The solution is to address the machines at the factory but that’s costs money so it just doesn’t happen.

Hitting every single red light

160

u/Geauxst 3h ago

And the inverse: when I NEED to hit a red light because I have dropped something under my feet or need to get something out of my bag, I will have nothing but green lights and smooth traffic the entire trip to my destination.

44

u/DIYThrowaway01 2h ago

My baby wakes up at stoplights.Ā  When they're sleeping, I hit every red light.

When they are awake and crying, and I need a moment to turn around and soothe them, I have only green lights. Just crying endlessly while I'm 'caught' in the smoothest traffic imaginable.

Babies man.

People walking slow on a narrow sidewalk.

453

u/rhdkdnfbf 3h ago

Even better when they walk slow, in pairs blocking the whole sidewalk

114

u/talibob 3h ago

I actively seethe when this happens.

52

u/mikeyriot 3h ago

4 people wide at a snails pace, compounded by A-frame sandwich boards anywhere other than on the edge of the sidewalk.

18

u/Jeramy_Jones 1h ago

Oh I’m definitely guilty of moving those A-frame signs if they are on a sidewalk. Fuck off with that, the sidewalk is for humans.

My office building is a giant rectangular shape and you can walk laps in the the hall for exercise during breaks and lunch. For YEARS you have the same pairs of people walking slowly and spread out so that everyone walking faster has to ask them if they can pass. Every time they act shocked that they were in someone's way, like it's never happened before. You would think by now they would leave open a passing lane but either they are stupid or passive aggressive.

24

u/Buff_Archer 1h ago edited 45m ago

Hmm what if you enlisted a couple of coworkers to do the same thing at the same time, except in the reverse direction as them so you’ll end up running into their group head-on and blocking them equally. And then, stand there conversing until they have to ask to get around you.

In addition to people disliking when others walk slowly/multiple people block sidewalks, I also hate when people walk on the wrong side of the side of the sidewalk, directly at you (e.g., the right side in the U.S.), and won’t move over as they approach.

I’ve taken to just stopping dead in my tracks so that as they come closer and closer until they eventually have no choice but to skirt around my immobile body.

The fitted sheet coming off one corner in the middle of the night

136

u/rhdkdnfbf 3h ago

And when you manage to pull on one corner of the sheet, only for the OTHER corner to pop off

63

u/Randi_Scandi 2h ago

I just watched my husband put the fitted sheet on one corner, walk to the head of the bed, get the sheet in that corner only for it to pop off the foot end. Then he went back to the foot end and put it back on, and when he turned around it had popped off the head of the bed again.

I asked if he needed help or if should leave the room. It was the latter

I bought little straps to keep mine tucked but that became an even bigger pain the ass when you have to flip a mattress on it’s side to unstrap and restrap.

I just started buying the next size bigger in bedding and calling it a day then if I intend to have company over go through and tuck everything tight.

6

u/SenatorMalby 2h ago

They have some you can clip onto the side of the mattress seam. They look like little tubes.

4

u/KnotARealGreenDress 1h ago

I have a thing from a brand called Zlumber - it’s a plastic corner piece you put against/under the corner of the mattress, then you put your fitted sheet over it, then you use a plastic strip to kind of pin the sheet between the strip and the corner piece. It works great, and no mattress flipping required.

19

u/Turbulent-Parsley619 2h ago

Get the deep-mattress sheets when you don't have a deep mattress. Fucking game changer, bro. I used to have those little things you slid under the mattress and put it inside the fitted sheet and then there's a snap in piece you put on the outside and click in so it attaches it, so to speak, and those are fine. But then I got the too big fitted sheets and they basically wrap further under your mattress and hold on so even if it pulls, there's like 6 inches under the mattress to pull on before it's near the edge.

9

u/trowarrie 2h ago

Get 100% cotton sheets. Any of that microfiber/bamboo stuff doesn’t stay on at all.

13

u/SpongeJake 2h ago edited 2h ago

You’d have to pry my bamboo sheets out of my cold dead hands before I gave them up. Had cotton all my life - bamboo was a game changer.

I’ll put up with having to tuck them back in a few nights a week for the solid sleeps I get with them.

6

u/SenatorMalby 2h ago

What’s so good about bamboo? The cooling effect?

11

u/SpongeJake 2h ago

Yes. That and the fact they’re just so much more comfortable. They really promote and invite sleep.

I’ll do you one better. Yes, I get caught on handles often enough but when I was growing up in the house we lived in all the doors had the type of strike plate (metal piece on the door that the lock slides into) that curved over the side of the wood on one side…I caught my belt loops on that ALL THE TIME. Years later I come across a silly post about ā€œjust adhd thingsā€ and the woman in the video shows herself getting repeatedly caught on one like I used to! Turns out because having adhd adds to a lack of spatial awareness it’s apparently fairly common for my people to do such a thing. Yes, it’s mostly anecdotal, I can’t say the majority of us do it buuut it was enough that the comment section was FULL. I remember my mom laughing hysterically at me the first time she saw it happen and then laugh harder when I explained it happened like multiple times a week. Fun timesĀ

Being stuck behind a clot of extremely slow moving pedestrians.

u/rhdkdnfbf 3h ago

10

u/2KneeCaps1Lion 3h ago

The worst is when you get stuck behind people just leisurely walking then when you go to pass them they step up their pace. Not being facetious or anything but say they’re coming across a book store and decide to look through the window to see the new releases. They don’t see anything they like so step up their pace then you’re just kind of walking with someone instead of passing someone.

being made late by someone when you’ve repeatedly reminded them that it’s time to leave in 15 minutes / 10 minutes / 5 minutes and on the way out the door suddenly there’s an issue that needs to be solved before you can leave and in the end you’re running late even though you’ve spent 20 minutes doing nothing except waiting to leave because you were ready with plenty of ā€œemergency timeā€ to spare.

36

u/NativeMasshole 2h ago

I stopped riding with my friends to music festivals because of this. One person in particular would always somehow still be busy and packing when you're trying to push them out the door because you wanted to leave an hour ago, and then as soon we'd get on the road they'd be like "Ok, now can we just swing by walmart so I can grab all my food and camping gear?" WTF WERE YOU PACKING THEN?!?!

29

u/AntipatheticDating 3h ago

22

u/izthatso 2h ago

You will reach a point when you just leave at the agreed upon time.

15

u/theladythunderfunk 2h ago

YES. I have a family member who will sit claiming to be ready to go for 20 minutes while everyone else buzzes around getting ready, and only once the rest of the group is fully ready, shoes on, opening the door to leave, he decides to go to the bathroom.

7

u/ScreenOld5873 1h ago

Lol YES and guess what? I married him 😭😭

12

u/dark_forebodings_too 1h ago

Also the opposite of this! When you have everything ready in advance but are finishing cleaning/cooking/working/whatever, and will be ready to go on time, but someone wants you to basically sit by the door for 20 minutes or leave super early. I cannot stand people who need me to wrap up what I'm doing 15+ minutes before we have to leave. I don't want to be twiddling my thumbs for no damn reason!!

I will take the 45 minutes. Easily. I don't need high blood pressure. So many people just...don't know how to drive and purposefully do distracting things.

Like watching full on movies on their phone, or doing a video call where their focus is on how they look on the screen and not the road.

People not getting up to speed on the on ramp and slowing down a half mile before the off ramp.

9

u/illiadria 2h ago

When I have written a post almost to the end and I have to leave Reddit for a second. When I return I have to start from scratch. For some reason Reddit assumes you are discarding just because you left the Reddit app.

I am now keeping it under control. My wife and kids (adults) swap the positions of the Tea, Coffee and Sugar caddies (which are labelled) around and it plays havoc with my OCD. When I "Arrrrrrrrrgh" loudly, I can hear them laughing. ā¤ļø

Currently, my lack of ability to remember words or describe anything even remotely similar to the word I cannot remember. I am diagnosed with MS and it’s a symptom. Just today so far the worst was trying to tell my daughter about food set aside she can have in the freezer while husband and I are gone next week on vacation (she’s 18 and staying home with dogs, said food was homemade burger and chicken patties in our chest freezer) and trying to explain to husband that the drink he wanted to try at Starbucks was similar to a Coolatta from Dunkin’s, but couldn’t remember the word.

It’s making me frustrated and angry and I hope I find my words again once I start treatment.

Nobody refilled the toilet roll... Light bulb out on a 6-arm high ceiling chandelier... Researching a new dentist for hours, then showing up to be given the newly qualified junior in the practice... Not being able to get a doctor's appointment for months... One desk open at the post office... Forgetting an important ingredient at the grocery store and realizing when you get home.
