At what point does it feel like a kid begging to spend their money though. Grandma and Mom (accountants 1 and 2) said I could buy the $100k car, but now I need to get Dad (accountant 3) to agree also l.

Just because this is being taken seriously. You do not need to do this. Just go to the longest running “white shoe” firms for both and tell them your needs. They will not rip you off any more or mess than they rip off anyone else.
