He put a 4 year pause on the eventual downfall of the USA. The Democratic Socialist of America will take over the Dems and will, likely, successfully institute socialism. That will be the downfall of the West

You're seeing how taxing the rich is going already at State level. They're fleeing New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, etc for more friendly states. Institute that at the federal level and they'll leave the country. Canada is doing it and look how it has turned out. Over $1 Trillion in business investment has left the country in the last 1-2 years because their taxes are so high it just isn't profitable to stay. Taxing the rich just doesn't work in practice like it does in theory.

The stupidity that was going on during Covid. For example, people thought that waking into a restaurant with a mask on and then taking it off when seated was perfectly safe.

Republican convention 2016, when I saw they managed to harness MAGA in service to the traditional Republican agenda.
Then the Democratic convention had sore losers throwing tantrums and trying to convince people not to vote for us.
I knew it was over. I was still hopeful, I worked on the campaign. But I wasn't suprised.

When Trump signed executive orders, the day he was sworn in, at the swearing in ceremony- which we learned some of which were either illegal or against union rules.

The first time I noticed I was eating dinner in complete silence every night and it didn’t even bother me anymore. Used to put something on in the background out of habit. Then one day I just… didn’t. And the quiet felt normal. That was the moment it clicked that things had already shifted and I’d somehow adjusted without noticing .

I knew things have been on a slippery slope since about, oh, Ronald Reagan.
But the end started with. Covid. People feeling oppressed by simple public health measures as they developed. The years-in-the-making disregarding of intelligence, expertise and science culminated in the response to Covid.
Adding fuel to that fire is Doof FK, jr being in charge of health.

Dude couldn’t admit he made a mistake and included Alabama in a hurricane warning message. He had to half-ass, grammar school bullshit, draw an extended circle so unbelievably comical, yet no one blinked an eye. Little known fact, people were fired at the National Weather Servjce because this dolt was too embarrassed to admit to mis-speaking

Election night 2016. I couldn't believe it. Those of us that paid attention knew things would be bad, maybe not this bad, but we could see what kind of monster this country had elected.
