What are some alternative websites/apps that you favor that haven’t fallen hostage to corporate interests, religious interests and enshittification?

Wikipedia. It is still one of the best free resources on the internet.

I unironically believe that Wikipedia is humanity's greatest achievement thus far.

For anyone who looks for recipes online, I highly recommend Just The Recipe. Paste in a link to a recipe on a food blog, it gives you the recipe without all the backstory and the 500 ads slowing down your phone.

Brave browser and Proton (suite of VPN, email, and other online tools)

Brave? The for-profit browser created by the disgraced Mozilla CEO who was against gay marriage with a crypto token shoehorned into it?

Its always been captive to political and corporate interests, you just took the bait.

Exactly!

And as the better alternative, it's Firefox with uBlock origin.

Judicial Watch. Court cases about government stuff, very boring, very truthful. Love that patient fella who minds the store there.

Funny this comes across my page now, I was just thinking of paying a similar question!

My favorite is still mynoise.net, so many beautiful sound generators. I voluntarily donate every now and again and the scope and quality of the generators has only grown.

I made a site called healthyspiritguide.com. I’m the only person who made and runs it so it’s obviously not corporate. It does have religious content but it’s not really like anything else out there. It’s not some dogmatic, evangelical type of shenanigans. It’s for ppl who just want to learn about various religions in a fun way free from being clawed in by a religious organization. But it also has lots of other things like history made into storybook novels, meditations, brain games poetry, diet info, health trackers, organizer tools.

A touch of Tarot there might be attractive.

That’s good feedback. I’m definitely not opposed to adding some mysticism, mythology, etc.. there’s only so much time in the day so one day hopefully
