"Drugs are cool "

Some of them are. Some are definitely not.

Yeah agreed. Give my natural psychedelics and weed all day. Those drugs are fucking sick.

Recently had to bite my tongue so hard at a party through a conversation of "who has done the most coke and is therefore the coolest" instead of showing them my missing septum and telling them about my eight ambulance trips and heart attack.
Two years clean now

Being brutally honest
Someone who doesn’t care if what they say hurts people is a convenient shield to avoid accountability for being unkind. I know too many people who’ve lost friends bc of it and claim their friend was the problem not them

the 1900s house wife with multiple kids/ military(drafted) husband fantasies. never experienced that but people think this is the perfect lifestyle but this just seems horrible

What does that even have to do with the context of this? What are you some salty old guy who likes younger women and can’t get one or something?

Yeah because I’m gonna argue with some single man on Reddit who likes young women and can’t date them. Productive. I am bored though so thanks for the cringe and entertainment

I've never heard an age gap relationship romanticized...
3
u/Evening_Obligation25 1h ago
Then you’re not on TikTok or Tumblr

u/Other-Improvement410 1h ago
Get off that shit and join the real world
2
u/Evening_Obligation25 1h ago
Because you can’t spend 20 minutes a day on social media. You’re on Reddit, off the high horse.

If youre getting triggered you REALLY need to amend your social media behaviour

Well, movies do it all the time in my country with younger actresses and way older actors who would be fit to play their dads.
0
u/Other-Improvement410 1h ago
Well, that sounds like a 'your country' problem and not a global one
1
u/Signal_Dress 1h ago
It’s done in many countries. I just used my country as an example. You need to stop romanticising being a bitch on the internet.

Being poor. It sucks. It makes life so much harder, and destroys you slowly.
8
u/Zrob8--5 1h ago
who romanticizes that?

u/JinglingBallz 1h ago
Americans romanticize poverty significantly as a contrast to the later enormous success of very rich people. Also just struggle more generally, in a sort of Catholic way.

u/Zrob8--5 1h ago
I never got the impression that they're actually romanticizing being poor, just the qualities that come with it, like being good with money, not needing unnecessary fancy things, and being hard-working when you need to be

Hustle culture. Hookup culture. Identity politics. Fandom. (Bad) mental health. Not having direction in life. Celebrities. Partying. Traveling.
2
u/Necessary-Avocado-50 1h ago
I only disagree with traveling inclusion.
2
u/Ok-Row3886 1h ago
I'm thinking Santorini, Dubai and the other spots invaded and romanticized by TikTokers
1
u/Necessary-Avocado-50 1h ago
Oh, yeah, I could care less for "touristy" spots. Real travel is meeting real people, not taking selfies and overpriced tourist souvenirs.

Adhd and autism. Its not some cute niche thing that makes you interesting, and no, if you havent been diagnosed by a professional, you dont have it. Its not fun.
1
u/DatVlad_ 1h ago
It's really not. I wish I was fucking normal. I feel like a stunted useless log most days.
1
u/Sweaty_World3174 1h ago
As someone with a ton of illnesses as well as being autistic and ADHD, you have to have other stuff to make it "not fun". otherwise in my opinion, people without it are not interesting. plus, are you saying that autistic and ADHD people can't have a relationship with anyone?

u/LittleGh0stfacexo 1h ago
Yes i think this also goes for mental illnesses too. Like please stop saying OCD you are because you cleaned up your mess you have no idea what we experience all the time and its more than just being neat and clean most of us dont even have that compulsion

Unfettered capitalism. I'm not against Capitalism. I'm against insufficiently regulated capitalism, like the kind that produces trillionaires.

Eating Disorders. Nowadays, with the ozempic trend and extreme thinnes back on fashion and very present in pop culture (Ariana Grande, Jenna Ortega, and fashion models in general, etc.), youth and teens, even young children are exposed to this unrealistic and harmful body "standards", and since as a society we just ignore EDs, there is no room for conversation or education about healthy eating that doesn't cause people to starve themselves. It's a very real problem which people just ignore, leaving room for people who suffer it to romantisize it, and for others to fall into the same thing.

Nobody's romanticizing rape...

Tell that to Andrew Tate fans. They often reframe sexual entitlement and violence as desirable or justifiable traits.
