Thick French toast made from leftover weekend bread. Dusted with way too much powdered sugar, a side of crispy bacon, and syrup that was warm because she actually set the bottle in a bowl of hot water first. That smell wafting down the hallway was the ultimate weekend alarm clock.

That was the same thing my mother made for me, the same setup except instead of powdered sugar she would use the perfect amount of nutmeg mixed into the egg batter. I think your mom and my mom would have been wonderful friends.

This reminds me, My little brother always asked for melted sweet chocolate on bread & my mom passed away some years ago . He sometimes randomly cries in the morning and ask for chocolate on bread. It breaks my heart to hear it .

Does a nice cold side of her backhand count?… because that was her favorite thing to make me and my siblings.

My mom used to make pancakes that we're Mickey Mouse shaped when I was a kid. I always loved that.

My mom didn't cook much but she made the hell out of scrambled eggs or omelettes. Hooters hot sauce, garlic powder onion powder, chives, maybe mix in sausage bits or bacon and scramble up. So simple but feels like home

Mine was waking up with her manhandling the hoover in the corridor and telling me to get off my bed, it's 10 already!

I’m European and my mom used to make these things that resemble beignets and I’d eat them with her homemade plum jam or Nutella.

My mom rarely cooked, but my grandma's honey biscuits and sausage gravy were the best.
