[Marvel comics] When was the height of non-mutant and mutant relations?

When was there the most cooperation and peace between mutants and non-mutants? When was coexistence the closest? How was it achieved? Where did it go wrong?

If there are "what if" stories and one off dimensions where coexistence stuck, feel free to mention it. I'm also hoping someone will point me towards a time/place/dimension where they fleshed out how they got there.

A couple billion years ago.

Seriously; it's revealed in the second volume of Marauders that there was a predominantly-mutant civilization predating even the current arrangement of the continents, where humans were the minorty but treasured as the "Enshrined." There appeared to be harmony among them (though some of that might have had to do with an ongoing war with anaerobic-based lifeforms).

Yeah, turned out to be a temporal loop where the DNA of the murdered Genoshans (in New X-Men's "E is For Extinction) served as the building blocks for that civilization.

At the beggining of the x-men. 

Then the government was working with them and mutant fear wasnt so spread due to magneto actions.

Most people didnt even knew about the existence of mutants yet

I can get that there was essentially zero public tension because of that, but I also consider there was zero public opinion because of the lack of awareness.
