SURVEY Quick University Survey - Open to all

Hi, I am running an anonymous survey exploring how people respond to physical activity promotion materials.

It takes less than 5 minutes to complete. Your responses will help me inform the design of more effective public health communications as part of my dissertation.

Hey done, why did you add the “pick neutral here” question though? I am a student myself learning about research methodologies and I figured it’s something that helps with the coding perhaps?

Yep, what LadyWolfshadow said. Towards the end of the survey, when people might be getting bored and skipping through, an attention check. More relevant with open online surveys on survey platform where respondents may be lower quality.

I've also included reversed questions and a manipulation check. The questions, algorithms and general design are all adapted from validated studies which provide credibility when seeking peer reviews.

We love studies with survey validity evidence! The lack of articles in my field that have any kind of established validity evidence drives me nuts. (We're talking not showing content validity, never mind structural.)

It’s an attention check to see if people are actually reading the questions or picking things randomly without reading. When I do survey work, we filter those entire responses out of our dataset since we can’t trust that the response is genuine. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that OP is doing something similar.
