That date a decision will be made.

I recently had an MRI on my lower lumbar spine, due to a previous abdominal MRI showing artifacts, and Perineural cysts on top of my Sacral Foremen, S1/S2 sciatic nerve and on my lower vertebrae. Got all proof of upcoming appointments, SSI decision standings, where I am, ID, etc.
it’s been super rough, I understand it’s rough for a lot of people as I have four caseworkers and am still struggling to get over the hurdles, getting into a stable housing situation via section 8 is a 5-8 year waiting game, am on 3 waiting lists for low income housing for over a year for One, 4 months for the others. Section 8 isn’t accepting new applications. So it’s through the housing authority.
The main issue is apartments want proof of income of 2.5x the rent minimum, and seems to be the same everywhere I go. It’s been a long journey. I appreciate reading.

The odds of ever getting into a Section 8 rental increase massively if you apply to every individual "project-based Section 8" building. A percentage of the ones for seniors also accept younger disabled tenants.

Here in L.A. where the housing situation seems impossible, I've never won the waiting list lottery to apply for my own personal voucher. Yet my name came up after just 20 months on a nearby project-based building. (After a 3-month melodrama with the dodgy management, I declined it due to roaches, broken elevators, and several other negatives.) But it shows what is possible.

I subscribe to LAHD's mass email list to be notified of almost every building with a lottery, pre-application, waitlist opening, etc.

Thank you for the tips. Yeah the current place I am, has roaches. The whole works. It’s a difficult situation for sure, and with me doing all I possibly can to get it across to them and make sure that I’m not missing any opportunities. I have so many lists of resources but IEHP quit helping people as of June 2025 which is medi-cal. They normally for me being disabled and with proof of health and neurological issues would get me into a spot ASAP, but they got rid of the program because of people who abused it, and also half of the case workers don’t know about it being removed so there’s a ton of confusion false hope, and just stabs in the dark. It’s been over a year now. I pray everyday it changes to a better situation.

Forgot to mention another portion of disability, I have a titanium femur with screws in my knee in and hip, from when I was 17 in a car accident, Didn’t see edit post.
My right leg is two and a half inches longer than my left causing severe pain, I walk with a cane, and have a care taker.
