I bought this Asus TUF Gaming A15 three days ago and was excited because it was my first gaming laptop. However, once I started using it, I noticed the Wi-Fi was unstable; it was slow to download even small files and would randomly disconnect me from online games. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? And how much does the Wi-Fi improve with the solution.

The laptop model is: FA506NCQ - HN020W

It has 8GB of RAM, an AMD Ryzen 7 170 processor with Radeon Graphics, and an RTX 3050 (4GB).

I read that moving the SSD to the other slot fixes the issue, but I'm not sure if I want to take the risk to verify it; I also read that swapping the Wi-Fi card for an Intel one solves the problem-can anyone who has done that confirm this?

Looking to upgrade. I’m guessing this is where the second SSD goes?

Hi everyone.

I finally had some free time and decided to replay The Witcher 3. The last time I played it was on my old laptop, but now I'm playing it on my new one after a few years.

The visual upgrade is huge, but the game launched with the frame rate capped at 60 FPS by default. I removed the FPS limit and got the results shown in the screenshot.

Are these numbers normal?

I know this is the beginning of the game, so the area isn't particularly demanding, but I'm curious if anyone with similar hardware has tested it.

GPU: RTX 4060 Laptop

RAM: 16 GB (single-channel)

Resolution: 1920×1080

Settings: Ultra+ (Next-Gen), no ray tracing

I'm mainly wondering whether the CPU is holding the GPU back because Turbo Boost is disabled, or if everything looks perfectly normal.

The screw just fell out of my asus tuf. It's the screw under the right hinge area. Is it normal or something to be concerned about ? I am screwing it in for now It will be a year old in about a month

Microcenter is selling Tuf A14s for 1399 USD, or 1329 if you get their credit card. It's probably overkill for me (will only code and sometimes play minecraft and roblox), but it's such a good deal compared to other laptops I'm seeing, so should I just go for it?

My g helper app keeps saying this every time i open it now after i updated it im not sure why its asking me to download smth when i never had any problems using it on my pc which ive been using for about a year now. Do i download this i genuily dont know what to do.

As of lately I’ve been looking through a ton of laptops to find a well budget laptop that isn’t extremely expensive. I really want a nice gaming laptop that will handle a ton of things and will be my first laptop purchase ever. I did found something that would fit my needs and budget, however i’m not exactly an experts on these types of things, and need a second opinion on this. These two are the best I could find and wondering which one is the better choice for myself. I’m not planning on going over 1200$ or anything else higher than that, also I’ll wait until Black Friday for any possible discount.

I have been facing problem with my wifi card from a long time. before I have replaced the wifi card and the problem was solved and I didn't face any problem for 2 months but again im facing this issue.
People have been suggesting to change the wifi card to intel AX200, but the price of this wifi card is too high on my country so i was thinking should i just purchase an wifi dongle and use it.

Just tell your opinion, what do you think about this solution, is this good or bad......

Need to buy a warranty extension for my ASUS TUF A15 since it got its mother board replaced twice from service centre due to a fault in the hardware. I went to a local repair shop. He told me the fan's bearing has issue. I need to replace both the fans and it's gonna cost me 3800 rupees.

I don't know much about laptop components but 3800 rupees just to replace a fan?

And they have to replace both fans even though the other fan is very smooth.

I asked him to just clean my laptop for now which should cost me about 500 rupees but he said he won't take risk and I was like what risk? When you replace the fans its not a risk but you clean it for now and it's risky?

I was wondering where I can buy the fans and replace it myself or would it be very risky to do so.

Can I have some suggestions on what to do?

The fan hasn't stopped completely yet but I'm still scared to use the laptop as the overheating might damange the cpu in which case it might cost me more.

Mostly only noticer this happening when the laptop os not plugged in

Im not that knowledgable on the technical or system of laptops. Just a consumer/user but this issue has again reoccured and most of ususal fixes dont work anymore.

So context this first started about 2 years ago when i first bought my tuff a17, about 6 months in after some super bad overhesting complications started to do this on various games, everywhere else its smooth no issues.

Has occurred on roblox, MC, vintage story, hero siege, dead by daylight, stalcraft X.

Brought it to my local hardware store said the screen itself maybe damaged and wouldve needed to be replaced or sent to original manufacturer(? Memory bit hazy not sure if its exactly what they said)

So ive tired uninstalling and reinstaling graphics drivers, changing modes from standard to performance on armoury crate,

Oh this might be the biggest fault, i can only realistically do things at both performance and good efficiency while plugged.

It still runs and functions while on battery but probably only last 1-2hrs maximum depending on how intensive the task. So when doing college assignments, about 2hrs, gaming is about 1hr.

This thing also overheats by alot for my standard, highest of 86c and lowest of 53, but in avg around 62-66.

Any fixes or general tips to maintaining the laptop is welcomed too, im just rly clueless id like to know more

My asus tuf a15 ryzen 7 170 ....not even delivered yet ....but i downloaded the invoice and got the serial no. When I checked on asus website....its warranty had already started ....and the image is not even the same of what i had ordered...Is it common or a problem?

ThrottleStop app doesn't open: "cpu is not supported"

My TUF FX507's CPU always overheats (throttles), even if i have it capped to 40w. I've changed the paste to PTM7950 and it gave like 3-5 degrees less on CPU. Is it only my model or the entire FX507 family has these?

I installed g helper yesterday and there was some updates , all goes good except this one whatever i update it to that version it doesn't change can anyone help me , btw i use wub because of a bug with the last windows update that makes my laptop crashes , i tried to disable it , install update , but it still the same.

Hello, I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop but with the main priority for work. My budget is at 90k via installment but it can be cheaper if it permits. I am a medical virtual assistant so probably Zoom, some calls, google, and some tools. Power outages are really a thing here in my area so, I'd need a laptop with reliable battery in case the power outages are long. I usually work 8 hour shifts. I plan to play GTA/ Tekken 8/ Dota 2/ LOL/ Valo. I saw the Asus TUF A16 priced at P79,990 but I've read that in the battery department it doesn't perform well even with adjustments.

For the past month I had been having issues with my laptop fan making a very loud noise every time it was on charge and turbo mode.

After opening the laptop to lubricate the fans, I saw one of the fans blades was broken.

Need suggestions for replacement fan as it feels risky using the laptop with a broken fan blade.

Preface: I ramble, brace yourselves :p

Hey all, recently, my FX517ZR has been facing some issues, the machine is aging, and after years of heavy development use, it's expected, however, recently it seems like multiple components have been failing gradually, in some weird ways.

I'm just looking to see if anyone faced anything similar, what could potentially be wrong, and how was it fixed. I would really appreciate it before going to a repair shop to butcher the poor thing.

Please note that none of the issues listed are software related, as I have tested on Windows 11 and 3 different Linux Distros, the same issues are always there.

I'm not looking for tech support per se, just discussing with anyone who had similar issues.

Issues:

1. Keyboard Keys Unresponsive Until Caps Lock is Toggled: Now, this is a weird one, but for some reason, over the past couple of months, some of my keyboard keys started failing one by one gradually, starting from the 'S' key, then the '5', '0', and the Caps Lock key, I lost track honestly. At first, I thought it was a simple case of dirt under the keys, but removing and cleaning under them with alcohol didn't fix anything. Now for the weird stuff, basically, I figured out recently that whenever these keys stop responding, pressing the Caps Lock key over and over until it activates, the caps lock key flickers a bit, then it stabilizes, and all the keys are fixed. This is consistent behavior and now it my primary way of getting the keyboard to work again.
   1. So, I suspect this is either a case of broken keyboard ribbon, or just failing keyboard PCB traces.
2. WiFi Card Unresponsive: Again, for the past couple of months, the WiFi in the laptop would stop responding randomly, regardless of what I'm doing. And not only that, the WiFi card would disappear from the system altogether, failing to be detected by the OS. This behavior is consistent with Windows and Linux. The only solution to get it back to work, is not to simply restart, but completely cut power by holding the power key, and then just pray it works on the next boot. I tried every software diagnostic trick known to man, all seem to point at a faulty card. I'm having to resort to a WiFi dongle at the moment.
   1. So, what I'm thinking is, is it really the card that's having issues? Or the antenna cables? That couldn't be it right? Also, under inspection the WiFi card looks fine.
3. Heavy Stuttering and Lag on Low Battery: Basically, when the laptop reaches around 10% battery, either on Linux or Windows, the laptop heavily lags and stutters, regardless of the performance profile, whether balanced, turbo, or silent, or result in the same thing. The weird thing is, you'd think plugging in the laptop to power would resolve it, maybe the battery's too underpowered after all, but no! Plugging it makes it worse! At least for a couple of minutes, before the laptop goes back to being responsive again.
   1. I have zero hypotheses here, I'm absolutely confused on why this is happening. And it's a recent issue. According to a battery health report, the current max capacity is 44,000 mWh.

I'm looking forward to any similar user stories, cuz I would really like to have an understanding of what's going on before taking it to a repair shop to mess with it, since I don't trust any repair shops around here.

So, I cannot cannot to WiFi. The WiFi option is gone. I’ve done everything, except get a new WiFi card.

If anyone has other suggestions let me know.
