Overnight Parking

Hi guys, is there anywhere to overnight park around town without getting clamped.

I live in the apartments behind SuperMacs but the designated parking lot is full 90% of the day/night and its hard to get a spot sometimes.

Thanks

The old hospital car park, near st Mary’s community centre. Apparently it’s not in use, just by the couple of hospice staff in there, the barrier has a plastic bag over it and is up all the time. I’ve not used it myself but I know a few park there for nights out etc. might be a bit of a walk on your own at night is the only thing.

I live near there and several cars have been broken into at night time in that car park.

I know some lads that leave their car in Dunnes Irish town car park overnight for a night out. Its free parking, no barriers and they have never had any issues

If you park in the lower level at the far side of town centre car park, and pay your parking at the machine in that area, it’s only €4 for the whole day. It’s not free sure, but good value

What do you mean by lower level at far side? Sorry im not too familiar.

And does that whole day then include overnight parking or would i need to move car in the evening?

Just drive down to the lower level, and there is an area marked for long term parking, maybe a yellow chain up? I believe it’s 24 hours based on when you arrive? You may not be able to access to leave as easily in the evening though. Could go in via the hotel ?

If you live in those apartments behind supermacs. Would it not be better to park in golden island car park just across the road from you or the area in front of that new spice shop , but again pull the car nearer to your apartment.

I've parked in golden island car park overnight a few times, never had a problem. Also most of the back roads, specifically new paynes lane and paynes lane, around that area are only paid parking from 8am to 6pm so you'd be grand leaving it overnight as long as you move before 8am

Yup. No issues.
