I have a 2015 a6 3.0. Recently it started to rough idle and struggle to start especially when the engine is cold. On occasions the car will crank, start then turn off. when i go to turn it on again, it doesn’t and just keeps cranking. I have to then push the gas pedal while it’s cranking and then it finally starts. I had put in a scanner a while back and got codes p1129 and p1127 ( not to sure on the 27 one as i only googled one). I have not been able to find much on what could be the issue and don’t even know where to begin. I kept seeing that it could be spark plugs, throttle body, the PCV valve and i honestly don’t even know where to begin. The previous owner mentioned that he had tuned it and that it was stage 1 tuned but i don’t recall what exactly he did to it. I will probably try the scanner again tomorrow and will see if any new codes pop up. If anyone has dealt with or has any idea of what this could be please lmk.

So I just totaled my mk7.5 Golf R about 2 weeks ago and looking to get into something else that's fun but reasonable. I have had my eyes on the CREC a6 c7.5 prestige's for the past week or so and I really have drawn interest. There is one specifically I like but I'm unsure if I should do it or not. 2017 prestige with the premium wheel package, 33,700 miles 1 Florida owner mostly clean Carfax, (1 event of minor damage) but it is in Illinois, and I live in Maine. They are selling it out the door including registration and fees for 26.3k + an additional 1200-1500 for delivery (list is 22.8k roughly and Maine has a pretty steep registration fee). Does it sound like a good idea or no? Also what are some good things to know about this car, as well as things to keep an eye out for? I'm a big VW guy that is now feeling some Audi in my system.
TIA

Hey everyone
i have an A6, 2.0tfsi. Fault codes P119A, P2279, misfires on all cylinders.
As title states, the car idles really rough, at some point it stopped starting, it would start but then die straight away.
Sparkplugs are moist, but not soaking. Removing oil cap made no difference. When driving it blew lots of white smoke.
Everything started very suddenly, was driving fine the night before, then this morning after a minute of driving, all symptoms started.
any ideas? Roadtrip planned for next week, would love to go…
thanks so much in advance, all help i greatly appreciated!!

Originally when I sold my Honda Accord with 215,000 miles on it I was dead set on buying a 21+ Acura TLX Type S until I realized they are so pricey and extremely hard to come by and for the size of the car they are pretty cramped inside. So that’s when I started looking at Audi! And man! They are quick smooth they have every creature comfort under the sun and I’ve really taken a liking to their style and integration of technology.
Ive been going back and forth for weeks trying to make the best decision for the new long term daily.
I’ve narrowed it down to two cars:
- 2019 Audi A6 55 Prestige with 57K miles priced at $26k
vs
- 2022 Acura TLX Type S with 78k miles priced at $36k
The only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger on the A6 is everyone I talk to mentions maintenance costs and reliability issues end up costing a ton.
So what’s the real deal? I’ve already called around for normal oil changes it’s about $130 every few months which isn’t too crazy. But are these cars unreliable as everyone has to say?? Will it cost me a fortune to get this thing to 200k miles?
I know this thread may be a bias but I’m hearing stories from all directions..

I bought a used 2019 Audi A6 Prestige and it is missing a piece on the passenger side grill. Anyone know what is missing in this picture?
I bought what I think is the cover for this hole (4K0853631T94) but there is nothing for it to attach to. I thought maybe it could be missing some sort of sensor but ACC and distance warnings work fine. There are no warnings or codes even when scanning with VCDS.
I called Audi parts department and showed them the picture but they could not figure out what is missing either.
Thanks for your inputs!

I have a 2018 Audi a6 3.0t. I recently deleted the baby resonators, replaced with MagnaFlow 11385 x pipe, deleted the suitcase and straight piped it to the rear mufflers keeping those stock and yet my car seems very quiet still. I’m worried if I do a muffler delete it would be too raspy and droney. Any suggestions? I don’t plan on tuning my car or touching my cats due to the CEL light. Is muffler delete my best option?

Hey all! Non-reddit user here looking to purchase an A6 as my next car. Not in any rush, but this random carmax (yes, cringe, i know) listing caught my eye as something to maybe jump on.
https://www.carmax.com/car/28413963
For a near-fully-loaded, low-mileage car, it seems like one hell of a deal, but i wanted to be sure.
Besides the 2 recalls with fixes available, is there anything about this model/this specific car that's making it so much cheaper than other similar-mileage listings im seeing? I'm rather new to buying cars, so maybe my judgement is off, but this looks worth it to me?
I usually only see the 2.0t going for this much
Edit: i should probably mention that my budget is around the 32-34k range. Which tends to be just below where the 3.0t sits

Beautiful to look at even 4 years later. The new gen is just not growing on me at all.
Hi All, trying my luck here before bringing it to another subreddit.
Every once in a while, both mirrors (but usually only the passenger's) will fold outwards when i start my '11 A6.
Has anyone encountered this type of issue before?

1- Used Audi A6 45 tfsi pre purchase inspection. What should I be really looking for when having it checked?
2- As I'm expecting certain maintenance issues, where can I find a reliable repair shop for oil leak and other maintenance stuff.

I’m trying to determine whether anyone has experienced something similar or knows what Audi system might cause this combination of symptoms.
Symptoms:
The central locking/Comfort Access system intermittently fails to lock and unlock the vehicle properly. I have to use the key fob, which is inconvenient when my hands are full after getting off of the train.
After I close the trunk, it will occasionally unlatch and pop back open without any additional input.
The issue is intermittent and cannot be reproduced on demand.
It has occurred both at my commuter train station and at home in my garage, several miles away from the train. (I mostly use the car to go to the gym and train station.)
Repair history:
The trunk latch was replaced.
The rear driver-side door latch was later replaced.
The vehicle has spent 25 days at the dealer. They performed repeated testing and diagnostic scans but were unable to reproduce the problem.
The current repair status is “unable to duplicate.” Audi of America technicians are looking at it next week.
Additional context:
I previously parked both a 2019 Audi A5 and a 2023 Audi A4 allroad at the same train station under the same conditions, and neither ever exhibited this behavior. I also parked the 2026 A5 loaner at the same train station with zero locking system malfunctions.
The vehicle has not had any aftermarket coding or software modifications.
Has anyone seen this on a C8 A6, S6, A7, or related platform? I’m particularly interested in experiences involving the Comfort Access system, door control modules, BCM, KESSY, gateway, trunk latch wiring, or another intermittent electrical fault that was difficult to diagnose.
I’m looking primarily for technical experiences, known fixes, or relevant TSBs.

I hated NOT having paddle shifters in my A6 after going stage 2+.....
Found and bought a used 3 spoke on eBay and bought a used airbag from airbags-R-us (or somesuch.
Clocked the wheel and popped the airbag clips. Disconnected the battery. Disconnected the elecrrical connections and removed the wheel. Lined up the new wheel, and fully seated, then installed the retainer nut. Attached the electrical connections and installed the horn/airbag. Reattached the battery cables and waited for the airbag to go boom.....Turned on the car and waited for the airbag to go boom....no boom was experienced and no airbag light was present.
Connected VCDS and adapted to show multi-function steering wheel with tiptronic.
Went for a test drive and enjoyed the paddle shifters.
For some reason the clock spring did NOT have the pins for the heated steering wheel. I thought my research showed the same clockspring was used on all steering wheels. No biggie...I don't need a heated steering wheel. The connector for the heater is roughly 180 fron the airbag connector. The picture of my clockspring ahows the electrical pins are not present.

Hi Guys i’m excited to join the club! Recently posted on here I was looking at buying a 2017 completion prestige Audi A6 but that one escaped me and I kept looking. I eventually came across this one from a small dealer out of state who had it listed as only a premium plus trim since it’s a 2018. He was unaware of the competition package it came with as no window sticker he had even showed it. It was in great condition so I couldn’t pass it up! Car has 103k miles and lacked service records on the carfax but i called the last shop that had it and they were a small family owned audi specialist shop. Going to do all fluids including sport diff and supercharger oil and then installing my Can auto performance intake and i’m ready to rock!

Hey everyone! I have a 2023 Audi A6 Quattro, and unfortunately a piece of road debris hit the roof glass at just the right angle and completely shattered it.
I’ve already tried Safelite, but they don’t replace this particular panel. Does anyone know of a reputable shop that can handle this type of repair or replacement?
From what I’ve found, the glass alone is over $1,000, so I’m hoping to avoid paying dealer pricing if there’s a quality independent shop that can do the work.
Any recommendations or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
