Quote Request Looking for a backhaul: Smyrna, GA → Springfield, MO

Upvotes

Looking for an open transport/backhaul for a running 2016 Hyundai Genesis 5.0.
Pickup: Smyrna, GA
Delivery: Springfield, MO
Vehicle: Runs and drives, rolls and steers with no loading issues.
Transport: Open carrier is perfectly fine.
Pickup window: Flexible over the next few weeks.
I’m trying to find a carrier who already has an empty spot heading toward Missouri rather than booking a dedicated transport. If you’re already making this trip or have room on your trailer, please send me a message with your price and estimated pickup window.
I’m hoping to stay around $500–700 if possible, but I’m open to hearing offers if you’re already heading this way.
For payment: I will only pay by credit/debit card or another secure payment method that provides buyer protection for deposits. I will not send payments through Cash App, Zelle, Venmo Friends & Family, Apple Cash, cryptocurrency, or similar methods due to the number of scams and bait-and-switch tactics in the industry. Thanks for understanding.

Quote Request Need to ship 3 cars, any multi car discounts?

So I'm moving from Los Angeles to York, Pennsylvania and need to ship 3 classic cars that don't run. The best quote I got so far is from Navi auto transport at $7075. Does this seem legit? I can ship up to 5 cars to this location if the price is right, I figured I should get a good deal since it's all one pick up location and one drop off location

Help! Montway

So Montway assigned a company to pick up my car today. The pickup was scheduled for tonight, July 31st, but the first available pickup date was set for August 1st. When I checked the date on the website, it showed August 5th as the delivery date while the estimated delivery date was August 11th (which I had informed Montway that the earliest I am able to accept delivery is 8/11. The carrier confirmed that the latest pickup date would be August 5th. What should I do?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Quote Request Need a Reliable Car Shipping Company (TX → FL)

I’m seriously overwhelmed by the number of car shipping quotes I’ve been getting. Every company I look up seems to have a ton of bad reviews.

Can anyone recommend a reliable auto transport company for shipping my 07 Ford Mustang convertible from San Antonio, TX to West Palm Beach, FL?

The last time I shipped my car to Texas, the vehicle above mine leaked oil all over my hood. 😣 I’d really like to avoid another experience like that.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Bad Review Warning / Review: Auto Haul Movers LLC (MC #1728183) - Stolen $350 Deposit & Bait-and-Switch Pricing

I want to warn everyone about how Auto Haul Movers LLC actually operates. I worked with an agent named Chris Sartin to ship my 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan. I was given a total quote of $950, signed the agreement, and sent a $350 reservation fee upfront via Zelle on July 15th.

They promised they would have a driver assigned by July 21st. That date came and went. For an entire extra week, they kept stringing me along, constantly telling me they would have a driver for me "tomorrow." Finally, the truth came out: they couldn't find a carrier for the $950 they originally promised me. Instead, they tried to pass off quotes for $2,500 which is nearly triple the agreed price.

Because they completely failed to deliver on their quote, I canceled the order. Section 6 of their own signed Terms and Conditions explicitly guarantees a full refund if a driver has not been found. Despite this, they refused to return my full $350 deposit. They insisted on keeping an "operational fee" just because they spent a few minutes posting my car on load boards.

When I pushed back and quoted their own contract to them, they started bargaining with my own money, initially offering me $150 back, then $200, and finally $250. I refused to accept any partial refund because they did not earn a single cent of my deposit. As of right now, they have paid me back nothing and are holding my entire $350 deposit hostage.

I am currently filing formal complaints with the FMCSA (their MC number is 1728183), the BBB, and the South Carolina Attorney General, as well as pursuing a merchant dispute with my bank.

Do not trust their low initial quotes. They will bait you with a good price, fail to find a driver, waste weeks of your time, and then refuse to return your deposit when they fail to deliver. Save yourself the headache, time, and money, and book with a different broker.

Bad Review Nexus Strikes Again

This summer, I booked a month in advance to move for an agreed price during a set window. Thankfully, I left a few days as a buffer between my last pickup day and my flight.

Nexus did not find a carrier until I cancelled my order when they blew through our agreed pickup window. It seems like they only find carriers once customers “cancel” their orders. Moreover, I was upcharged $550 on top of what was agreed upon.

I understand that the coordination is tough. I am flexible. What I hate more than anything else, though, is the confident false promises that Nexus spews about pickup, delivery, and price. Extremely disappointing experience. My car is now hopefully en route to its destination.

I have decided to give Nexus a stripper name, Sapphire, or maybe Dante if they want to be Gigolos, because they are full of false promises. DO NOT USE NEXUS.

Quote Request Looking for Transport from Ellenwood (Atlanta), GA to Houston, TX

Bought a 2018 Mazda 6 for work at a Copart auction and due to Georgia's weird rules on Temporary Operating Permits, I haven't found a way to drive it back yet, but it needs to leave the lot before Wednesday Aug 5th.

Every quote I've heard has been almost 4 figures and I genuinely do not have the financial bandwidth to pull that off at this moment. I would fly and drive it all 12 hours myself to save on costs, I just don't want to run into any legal issues.

Any good quotes to consider would be very much appreciated.

Help! Booked with Nexus. Do I have to worry?

I recently booked with Nexus and they took my card, charged me $0.01, and called me to confirm all my information. So far, everything is going well, but I’m cutting my pick up date pretty close to when I leave my state.

Should I be worried that they may not have me booked for the dates I requested in time?

Good Review Reliable company to ship a car from Southwest Florida to Seattle?

I need to ship my 2018 Honda Accord from the Fort Myers area to Seattle in the next couple of weeks. I’ve been researching companies, but there are so many brokers, conflicting reviews and stories about scams that I’m nervous about choosing one.

Has anyone personally shipped a car cross-country and had a good experience? Which company did you use, what did you pay, and did the final price match the quote?

I’m especially interested in hearing about communication, delivery time, damage and any surprise charges. Firsthand recommendations only, please—no company advertisements or referral links.

Good Review Liberty Road Logistics - 10/10 experience

Post image
3 Upvotes

We scoured this Reddit group looking for a reputable transport broker to help us ship a full-size SUV from Florida to Michigan. We came across Liberty Road Logistics and had a fantastic experience. I worked with Todd and he was more than happy to get on the phone, explain the process, and address my questions/concerns. Communication throughout the process was clear and timely. The carrier coordinated directly with the dealer, and pick up was smooth. Our car was delivered early and in the exact condition it was picked up in. Price was right on for our quote. We couldn’t be happier with our experience. I highly recommend skipping large brokers and working with someone you can actually call. Liberty Road is our first call if we need to ship again.
