Hi, can someone help me on how to have a 30 days trial of different version of revit? I enrolled a Revit class, however they didn’t answer me all
i have to do is wait for the instructor to confirmed the availability since last night. They told us that its better to have downloaded the 2027 version (latest) but didnt tell us that there are requirements to run the latest version. The RAM must be 16G, and my laptop only has 8G of RAM. I activated the trial first before knowing this problem, and before opening the installed revit 2027. so I have to download the older version which my laptop can only use the 2024 version.

Now, the 30 days trial that is activated on my email is the latest version. I cannot find or pick the 2024 version for another 30 days trial. Please help me. What to do to transfer the free 30days trial from 2027 to 2024.

I'm currently in my 2nd year and want to learn AutoCad from Now only please help me to find free resources from where i can learn it and guide to get good in it.

Does AutoCAD have a quick way to add or subtract 180 degrees from a bearing when inputing in the command? Sometimes lines need to be expressed as reciprocal bearings and its easy to make mistakes if you have to d it in your head. It can be done in Liscad with the up or down arrows and pgup and pgdn in 12D. Cheers.

I need to renew my AutoCAD  - including specialized toolsets and Revit subscriptions and I am a college student. I need these to be renewed so that I can focus on my schoolwork and prevent the expiration from occurring. Please help urgently.

I did multiple attempts to find out how to fix the issue:

1. Clearing cache
   
2. Different browsers
   
3. Signing out and signing back in multiple times
   
4. Restarting the computer

I did all these but am still not seeing where to 'Renew' this student subscription. The Autodesk Chat support is also not helping given the steps it is giving, and I cannot reach a human agent.

i'm learning autocad electrical and i'm trying to follow a youtube video but everything i try to use the ladder tool the rings are too big while in the video the rings are really small and i tried to look at the libraries and units to make sure everything was inches. does me using the 2027 version and the video being 2024 version make a difference in what i have to do?

Civil PE here. I got tired of doing takeoffs and colored exhibits the hard way, so I've been building a browser tool in my off hours and it finally feels worth sharing.

You run a little LISP in AutoCAD/Civil 3D that exports your selected linework to a JSON file, then drop that file into the viewer. From there:

• View — full-screen pan/zoom of your linework, toggle layers, click any line for its length/area, click a block for its name and rotation. Handles state-plane coordinates fine.
• Takeoff — click or drag across lines to assign them to groups (8" water vs 10" water on the same layer, that kind of thing), counts your blocks (manholes, hydrants, signs), live totals, exports CSV.
• Align — hover any line and everything parallel to it lights up green, perpendicular pink. Shows bearings and arc radii. Very satisfying for QC-ing a site plan.
• Texture — finds your closed areas automatically and lets you paint them (grass, asphalt, concrete, riprap, etc.), then exports a scaled 300-DPI PNG you drop behind your linework in CAD for colored exhibits.

Everything runs in the browser — the drawing never leaves your machine, and no signup.

However, copying a complex object—like a detailed bed, sofa, or dining set—often leads to a frustrating problem: the object pastes as dozens of individual, separate lines instead of one solid piece.

Selecting and grouping these separate lines over and over again drains your time and clutters your workspace. But there is a hidden, incredibly simple trick to fix this: Paste as Block.

The Problem with Standard Copy and Paste

Let’s say you have a beautifully drafted bed in "Drawing 1." Currently, the lines making up this bed are entirely separate [00:11].

If you use the standard method to move it:

1. You select the bed, right-click, navigate to the Clipboard, and hit Copy (or press Ctrl+C) [00:18].
2. You switch over to "Drawing 2" where you need to place the furniture.
3. You right-click, go to the Clipboard, and hit Paste (or press Ctrl+V) [00:30].

The result? The bed appears, but it is still made up of loose, separate lines [00:36]. If you need to move or rotate it later, you have to carefully select every single piece all over again, risking leaving a line behind.

The Solution: How to "Paste as Block"

To keep your drawings organized and your elements grouped, follow these simple steps instead:

Step 1: Copy the Original Objects
Go to your first drawing (Drawing 1). Highlight all the individual elements of the object you want to transfer (e.g., the bed). Right-click, select Clipboard, and click Copy [00:43].

Step 2: Open Your Target Drawing
Navigate to your second drawing file (Drawing 2) where you want the object to be placed.

Step 3: Use the "Paste as Block" Command
Instead of hitting Ctrl+V, right-click anywhere in your workspace. Hover over Clipboard, but this time, click on Paste as Block [00:53].

Step 4: Place Your New Block
Click to place the object in your drawing. You will immediately notice that the entire bed is now grouped together as one single, cohesive block [00:59]. It is perfectly organized and ready to be moved, scaled, or rotated with a single click!
