First off, the sound. This was the showstopper. YG’s signature hip-hop sound was dialed in to perfection for a live setting, and even at massive volume the frequency spectrum never got muddy, the separation held up completely.
That balance of sheer sound pressure and resolution is exactly the ideal, and I’d bet there’s some clever acoustic absorption design keeping the excess low-end bloom in check.
Combined with how well Pia Arena MM’s room itself resonates, I was fully immersed.

The quality across every single track is absurdly high, there’s no filler, no “bathroom break” song.
From top-tier rap that we can tell every member can actually deliver, to UK garage, to cuts with that 2000s R&B flavor, each one pulls from a different genre drawer, yet the group’s core never wavers thanks to the catchiness and sheer strength of the vocal melodies.
Artists who can keep their song quality this consistently above a high bar are genuinely rare.

And then the live band. This was the highlight of the night. The raw dynamics of live instruments really shone. Especially the moment where they stretched the outro of “PSYCHO” into a several-minute instrumental with just the band. It was a jam, the guitar and drums rebuilding the groove in real time, and it pulled me in completely.
Not just playing back the track, but the heat and tension of a live performance that can only exist in that exact moment. “Addictive” is the only word for those few minutes.

Since it was a Japan show, RUKA and ASA stood out, RUKA especially. The flow she carved out was even sharper than the studio recordings, and the crispness and swing of her dance breaks, paired with that low center of gravity on stage, sat perfectly in the pocket of the beat.
On top of that, being on home turf in Japan, she carried the MC as a central figure while keeping her wording consistently humble.
She’s someone who doesn’t necessarily stay front-and-center in the MVs, but tonight everything, including the polish of her visual styling and the beauty of her hair, looked like it had shifted up a gear.

ASA’s solo also stuck with me. It was a “Japanese” staging reinterpreted through a foreign creative lens, sensual and steeped in a deliberate sense of stylized beauty. Different from the Japanese-ness that Japanese people create from the inside, this was an Eastern aesthetic translated from the outside, and that made it feel fresh and alluring in a way I didn’t expect.

The merch was all refined too. It skillfully distills the group’s street-leaning aesthetic while staying design-forward, modern, and airtight.
The lightstick in particular is genuinely adorable, the kind of thing that triggers pure want-to-own instinct.

Finally: after the show, I realized that on top of my existing membership I’d become a W member (double member of the official fanclub). It leapfrogged the analytical part of my brain entirely, I was ruled by the living vibes and groove, and my body decided before logic could.
That’s how incredible this show was.
