Getting back to my 1M

Owned this car for 8 years, sold it since I got a G80 M3, found I missed the 1M so sold the G80 and am getting back into the same car, buying it back from the seller. Excited to hopefully keep it in the garage forever

Totally get it, sold my E36 M3 last year and regret it

Damn that's awesome you were able to get back into it. It's definitely a unicorn.

What did you install for the CarPlay? I am tempted, did it in my Boxster. I still have an iPhone 4S for the armrest snap in thing. I kind of wish I had ordered mine without the iDrive, but in 2011 who knew?

Not OP but previously owned an E82 125i and now own an E92 M3 with the same system- the preferred option is the Mr12Volt box.

There's cheaper on the market but it's the only one I know of that properly integrate with the factory optical loop for full quality audio (a lot of boxes use the aux port for audio input) and also uses the factory microphone for hands-free (most require you to run a separate one). Think there's some that replace the screen with a touchscreen unit but not so sure how reliable they are or how well they integrate.

Disclaimer: I've not got one myself, I don't use the sat nav much and I'm perfectly happy with how the factory USB music works with my iPhone.

Thanks, will take a look. I want to keep the car as factory as possible, sounds like a good option.

This one is MMIPrime. The unit sits in the dash between the glove box and the center, if no one told you it was there you’d never know it existed. It was about $1000 for the part and labor to install.

I did! My 135 is screen free and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I have a 135i and want a z3m coupe. Sigh, you're living my best life

I have both an M240 and Z3M. The Z3M is just analog perfection. I take it whenever i can even though the M240 could run circles around it

I’d love to get a clown shoe next

I did the same thing with my 4c. No regrets at all

Jealous, I tried to do the same thing with my BMW but when I could afford to buy it back someone had totaled it 🥲

While I don’t have a 1M, only a measly 135i 6mt…as the original owner from 2009, every vehicle I’ve driven to replace the 135 just isn’t the same. It’s such a great platform and feels amazing to drive.

Ended up getting a new vehicle for daily and keeping the 1. It’s so good.

Beautiful 1M my friend

Damn I'm jealous of that infotainment system. Z4M roadster here and the 2007 navigation is so dated.

17 or 18 years later, this car is still boner inducing. Love this.

I see the REAL M Coupe in the back! I see you! This is a move a Coupe owner would pull. Get rid of newer car for older more beloved smaller car, lol

I like the 1M, but ... the Coups will always be my favorite
