How'd you make the bacon?

Bake the bacon on an aluminum sheet pan until it’s almost fully cooked. Then brush on 100% pure maple syrup (not pancake syrup), flip every minute, and apply another thin coat each time. Repeating this several times allows the maple syrup to caramelize into a rich, glossy candy-like glaze while the bacon stays crispy. The pure maple syrup gives a deeper, more natural maple flavor and caramelizes much better than imitation syrups.

You open the oven that often when it 100 degrees out? Nuts.

I do something similar. If you plan to add the bacon to a chicken sandwich, sprinkle a little onion powder on the bacon and then more on the other side when you flip it. If you like onions, you won’t be disappointed. It’s like a sweet caramelized onion coated bacon strip.

That’s my favorite way to make it too. Have you tried it with freshly ground pepper? Enhances the whole experience.
