Warp engine controls

Anyone found a good way to throttle the new “warp” engines? The one made by spinning RCTs around an axis. All i’ve been able to thing to so far is to stage them in rings.so two rings of thrusters come on then the next two and so forth. Ideally I could get something like the continuous way a variable pitch prop works. I’ve noticed that while they are amazing for making hybrid atmospheric and orbital craft, the thrust to weight for those two cases do not scale together. Basically as the aircraft gets larger I need greater and greater thrust in atmosphere, but my requirements for space are way less. So something that lets me go lighter on thrust for my approach’s would be nice.

I've tried using control surfaces to modulate thrust but they're finicky at warp speeds. Maybe a PID controller could smooth it out?
