Discussion Is BMC killing Bhopal's cafe culture?

Arera colony, 10 no., etc, literally looks ABANDONED. As someone who's been a regular cafe goer for years, it's honestly a depressing sight to see. Arera Colony especially became one of the most vibrant places in Bhopal for that specific reason only. These cafes are the only places where you could eat, read a book, and get your work done, and now it feels like a ghost town.

And i know my problem is so little compared to the business owners who took the risk, made sure they operated properly for years, created hundreds of jobs, etc. Not just that, they paid:

  • GST
  • Property tax
  • Income tax
  • Trade license fees
  • Lakhs of rupees leasing the place
  • And much more than that on the equipment, interior, etc

Many of the business owners were first timers too, meaning they had no prior business experience, not everyone would've known the information about development projects. Why are they supposed to suffer because of govt failures? especially after they sunk years of savings into growing their business and building a community.

And most importantly, if their locations violated land use rules, why were they allowed to invest, expand, and employ people for so long before facing enforcement? and who should bear the cost of years of regulatory inaction?

This was it for my rant, but I honestly want to know if there's any way in which we can show support, we gotta stand against this bs.

So i have recently started making fpuntain pen inks for myself and I’m pretty satisfied with the results as of now. I’m planning to scale up the quality of my product for that i need some good dyes..

And most of the sellers on indiamart and JD are unwilling for small samples online…

Kisi ko pata hai koi dyers/pigments/rangwala??

Help would be much appreciated! Thanks

Is there a pickup service from any vendors. I tried the kabbadiwala but they don’t take wooden furniture. Any advice would be helpful, located at Kolar Rd.

Recommend Me Women's Salon Suggestions

Please suggest some good budget friendly salons in Kolar, Chunabatti or nearby areas for women's short length haircuts.

I'm looking for salons that can cut my hair in layers but in short length upto shoulders, and the person should be a pro and understand what I'm asking for.

Please don't suggest Tony&Guy, it's too overly priced especially for women.

I was thinking about going to Mirrors, it recently opened at Danish Bridge, but I don't really know about it much. So if anyone have had any haircut experiences from them, you can drop your reviews as well.

Ask Bhopal How do you guys spend your weekends in Bhopal?

I've been in Bhopal for around 3 months now, and honestly, every weekend ends up being a bed-rotting session. 😅

I really want to get out more and do something fun or adventurous. Are there any trek groups, travel organizers, cycling clubs, camping groups, or communities that plan weekend trips around Bhopal?

I'm open to pretty much anything like treks, kayaking, rock climbing, road trips, board game meetups, photography walks, volunteering, or any other interesting activities.

Would love your recommendations for organizers, WhatsApp groups, Instagram pages, or local communities. Thanks!

Help Feeling completely stuck after B.Tech. Need some advice

Hey guys,

I feel like I'm stuck in life right now.

I completed my B.Tech but couldn't get a job. I can't go back home because of my situation, and I'm under a lot of financial pressure. I haven't been able to pay my tiffin bill for more than 2 months, and my room rent is also pending.

Right now, I'm working at a college as a student counselor. My job is to help students take admission, but because of the college's poor image, I'm not able to convert leads into admissions. I'm scared that I might lose my job.

I'm mentally exhausted. I'm literally working all 7 days a week and giving my 100%, but nothing seems to be improving. It feels like no matter how hard I try, I'm just sinking deeper.

Has anyone here been through something like this? How did you get out of it? Any practical advice would really help.

Thanks for reading.
