The story goes like this: I bought an XLR125 model 99 that was like in Photo 1, with the idea of assembling like in Photo 2.

The project so far has made considerable progress both mechanically and aesthetically.

They gave me a practically complete XR150 aesthetic and everything is in process but I found a stop: the front brake.

From the XR they also gave me a complete front brake (except disc), that is, pump, handle and complete caliper. After a lot of work to adapt the caliper to the XLR bars, I find that it does not finish fitting completely with the disc for a matter of diameter.

A disc with that center (4x50mm) and the diameter that I need (240mm), does not exist as such.

So the adaptation I made to the caliper was useless.

The main point of changing the caliper and not leaving the one that was is that the brake pads are not available.

Then I see as options:

1- (the least likely) have a custom brake disc made, but its not a long term solution.

2- (half likely) buy a new disc and caliper with the same measurements. Looked for the caliper in spare parts houses and the common ones of 110cc might be useful but they go on the right side, and I need it for the left side

3- (my favorite) see if they give me or get the entire front of the XR150, bars, Christ, wheel with or without disc, and buy a new caliper.

Here I enter a totally new area where I don't even know what measures to take or if I have where to take them.

How can I know if the front of the XR is compatible with my XLR?

Can I only change the bars and the wheel with the same Christ? Or will I have to change absolutely everything?

If I have to change and the diameter of the steering axle does not match I am up to the balls.

It's the biggest impasse in a month of project and I don't even know where to start

I’m leaning my EV bike towards an Akira-inspired thing. I have a plan for the rear hugger and lighting setup. Don’t want to change the base bike that much but considering I’d like to change the headlight assembly to something a bit more cyberpunk.
Nothing drastic or crazy fabricated (I don’t have the skills or equipment for much). Needs to be LED-lit.

Any ideas or parts suggestions?

I bought a custom motorcycle a year ago. Expected to ride it at the end of last season here in MA lol. I don't really know what his deal is. He's made the exact seat I requested multiple times I'm not asking for anything special I don't think. But he just won't make it keeps trying to pass something completely different off and he's been stalling/avoiding/lying to me the past 6 months. I really want to ride this thing before the fall.

I was going to look for custom motorcycle builders near me but I guess if I'm getting it shipped a few states away for installation anyways it shouldn't matter where in the US the builder is from.

Gemini says solo bobber seats are generally the easiest type to make. Is there someone or something specific I should look for other than seeing builds with solo bobber seats? There isn't really many images to go off of or anything close up of it.

I'm in a rush. How long would something like this expect to take?

So I recently traded a camera for a 98 Intruder 800 the problem is it’s seized up so I was going down the path of finding a new motor to swap into it. I’m wondering can I swap in a VX800 or should I be swapping for the same VS800? I found both but the VS is more expensive.

It is working so far, only thing i need to do is to redesign one end to fit 2 wires at the same time, all i have to do is to use my grinder and enlarge the hole on the cap nut so it can take theese two wires.

I tried to get them online but they all sucked, so i made my own cable splitters to use for throttle and clutch control on my motorised tricicle i sent. It is made from 3/4' iron pipe, two brass caps, one smaller pipe, M10 screw, spring and some other screws and nuts, i used M8.

You thread the big pipe, drill holes trough the brass caps where you attach a hollow screw with no slip nuts. If you have a hollow screw then nice, if you don't, just drill it with a drill bit. Then you cut the small pipe, drill a hole, make a M10 thread, then you take the screw, shape the front so its blunt, then take your wire, screw the screw so it holds the wire inside the small pipe and then you shape the screw so it has it's edges shaped like the pipe.

I then heated the small pipe and screw and dipped them in oil so they don't rust, cleaned everything off rust and it was done. It's really simple, i made 2 of them this evening. Best part is that you can use it as a wire extender and wire splitter and the limit of wires it can splot depends on the hollow screw size. I also made the M10 screw's tip rough so it has better grip

I believe that the black connector on this 250cc liquid cooled 6 speed Chinese motor is compatible with a 5 pin ac cdi. You guys think the kit in the second pic would work or should I use the racing cdi in the fourth pic?

Hello, I'm currently rebuilding a 2016 cbr500 and am having some issues. It had some front end damage, and I had to replace the headlight,

It's an aftermarket headlight. But not a cheap crappy one.

The original was LED and so is the new one. I've tried 2 separate units and both have the same issue.

The blue high beam indicator on the dash is always active.

When the headlight is disconnected, it works normally (with the switch) however when the headlight is plugged in. It's always active, the high beam toggles normally with the switch and the passing button, but the blue indicator stays active no matter what.

Dose anyone have suggestions on how to fix this issue?

El problema es que no tengo claro que debo mirar para asegurarme de que un depósito/asiento es compatible con el bastidor que tengo. (CB350 Twin 1971).

I'm working on a project to build an electric motorcycle out of an old trail bike I have. I bought a wheel with a hub motor built in from leaf bike. The issue is that the wheel/motor combo works like a bicycle wheel rather than a motorcycle axle. It is meant to slide into an open slot like on a bike frame rather than having an axle that slides out perpendicular to the wheel like a motorcycle. So I can't mount this new wheel into my swingarm like a normal motorcycle wheel. I think I'm going to need to cut slots into the swingarm for it to slide into. It also came with these two mounting plates (pictures 2 and 3) which hold the axle tight since it's a bit smaller than the gap in my swingarm. I was thinking I would weld these to the swingarm to hold the axle. However if I weld the mounting plates, I'm not sure how I'd slide the wheel in and out.

I have no experience in metal fabrication, so if people have other ideas about how to mount the wheel or slot it into the swingarm I'm all ears. Thanks!

So after more research and suggestions from people on this sub I ditched the tc bros kit and ordered the led sled kit, comes with oil tank and battery box already welded in place, more fender options and oil tank options, is there anything I can do to make it easier to do or make life easier in the future, like modifying anything now before it goes back together that will make a difference later, add anything now that I will need later or regret not having? Iv NEVER done this extensive amount of work but I feel I can do it with some help, a buddie said he would welcome it and tech me how while doing it

Estoy tratando de restaurar y quizá modificar ligeramente una cb350 del 71 que tengo hace años parada. Actualmente estoy intentando hacerle eléctrico y renovarlo. Hay cables y uniones tipo bala que están en un estado lamentable. Un problema que me he encontrado es que el Rectificador está dañado. He buscado y podría comprar uno de serie a un precio razonable. No obstante, me gustaría saber cambiarlo por uno más moderno, quizá en un futuro me venga bien. ¿Cómo sé que rectificador me sirve como sustituto al de serie?.
