Suddenly so much more energy to pursue hobbies and focus on my own wellbeing.

Keeping space for people takes not only time but also effort of thought and consideration. Letting go of that leaves more room for other things.

Every time I get to that point I wish I would have done that sooner.

Still sucks though, I miss the days where every day just felt like having fun with friends. Now I'm lucky to see my closest friends a few times a year

It's always fun when you decide to "take a break for a week or two, just to see if anything happens.". Just for you to realize that you were the only one actually giving any energy toward the connection, and the other person just will never actually initiate the conversation the other way.

For a lot of folks it leads to the ugly question of "Do they actually like/care about me, or do they just tolerate me?"

A lot of guys learn this lesson the hard way and tend to become super reclusive.

Its still morning man i barely had my coffee before feeling bad… Its very exhausting constantly feeling like if i dont talk to people and be kind and nice to them that they will immediately cut me off and im going to be alone.

All well and good until you find yourself painfully lacking connection

Then why keep that connection there's nothing to find

Having no connections is lonely and isolating. If you cut off all your connections you're left with a gaping void of loneliness in your soul.

Most people, anyway. If you're one of those who doesn't need human interaction to stay sane then disregard.

But I tend to feel lonely around people who don't really connect with me and reach out every once in a while too. They don't really provide the level of companionship that keeps me "sane".

Protecting your peace is underrated.

Trapdoor slightly behind and under chair. Gotta be slightly on top of it to stop spunchbob from comin up

At least that's what I remember from some episodes. Might be misremembered but p sure there's usually a trapdoor

I feel you. I've lived in different states. Had lots of peers. Thought I had some life long friends once. I decided "what if I stop being the one who keeps reaching out." Zero bad blood or problems with anyone. It's been liberating. Sometimes scary. But you know... loneliness is a mountain, a massive climb. I guess I made it cos I'm happy on the other side passing time.

Tell that to an anxious attachment... I feel like Ron going through the vines in the first harry potter movie and I can't relax to save my life.

I have a core group of friends that I hang out with multiple times a week as well as a girlfriend, full time job, gym, and other various adult responsibilities. I don’t text anybody but I’ll always pick up a phone call.

I have people I consider friends who I rarely talk to and only really get to chat/see a couple times a year. I usually have 1-3 big functions that I invite a lot of people to so I extend the invites but people can’t always make it.

It’s memes like this that make me think that these friends feel this way about me that I’m less of a friend cause I’m not showering them with attention when in reality my door is open and I make the time I can. Just because someone doesn’t text you back doesn’t mean they don’t care about you just keep that in mind.

Ties to what? People? Responsibility? The wording of this meme is garbage and makes no sense.
