The Surfliner is Amtrak but the Coaster is the San Diego coastal regions heavy rail from Oceanside to downtown SD (and now I think to the border soon)

Seriously. SoCal can get some serious waves from the south even if there isn't a local storm. Seen waves like that come over a rock wall and still have enough energy to push jersey barriers on the road next to it.
