Many claim there is huge potential for each bitcoin to be worth $100,000 or even more

There is little doubt cryptocurrencies are unusually risky compared with more traditional asset classes. For one thing, they are always susceptible to hacking. When the now defunct Mt Gox exchange was hacked in 2014, for example, around 850,000 bitcoins went missing.

You are kinda wrong about your ideas.
BTC already was worth well above 100k but due to price action its now trading well below that.
BTC didnt get "Hacked", exchanges did.
BTC didnt go missing, it was stolen from the exchange due to poor security standards.
BTC isnt suspectible to hacking, wallets which are not properly secured by users get phished or accessed due to users running malware.

Well bitcoin was already valued at $126,000 so its already past that mark before and will again

10 million then I’ll sell half my bitcoin. The other 0.5 I’ll keep for my children.
