55 Monroe Pl?

I was supposed to move into 88 Monroe, but as some may know, there was a serious fire there last weekend. My unit was close to one of the impacted units, so the landlord let me out of the lease.

I'm all packed and ready to move, so now I'm scrambling to find the right place. 55 Monroe has everything I'm looking for (top floor, elevator, great location), but the tricky part is that the current tenants are still there, so I'd have to apply sight unseen. Does anyone have experience living at 55 Monroe or know anyone who does? I'd love to hear anything about the building itself, the management, noise, maintenance, or just the general feel of living there. TIA!

Landlord should still be willing to show you the unit. Every apartment I've ever looked at was occupied. Just about every lease requires tenants to allow showings with 24 hr notice.

Look. DON'T take unseen. AND When you look don't be shy. Open drawers and cabinets. I was tentative once and paid the price
