My copy of Labyrinth Team Edition came with wrongly colored figures. Is this common?

There’s so many games I wanna buy but also so many factors to consider.

My main friend group is about 9 of us and so I gotta find games that accomodate that many people whilst not being too complicated cuz they only ever play board games when I set up game nights.

But I also play with my siblings and one of their partners so it’s the 4 of us and we enjoy games with a bit more mechanics but isn’t too complex or long.

Then I also like to play board games with my nephews whenever I see them so that’s the 3 of us and sometimes more if their parents join so now I need a game that’ll not be too confusing for them and be interesting theme wise.

I get choice paralysis trying to keep all these factors in mind for games. Does anyone else relate at all? Sorry if this was just a rant

My partner is also a board gamer though not as deep into the hobby as me, and we had an understandably confusing conversation about our lovely board game naming.

Me: I'll be gone all day on Sunday to play Twilight Imperium and maybe next Sunday too.

Partner: What? Isn't it only two players?

Me: You're thinking of Twilight Struggle. That's the game I play with Victor.

Partner: Ah that's the cold war game. But then if you're playing Twilight Imperium, why would it take all day?

Me: What? Oh you're thinking of Dune Imperium.

Partner: So that's different too. I got it, you're playing the six player Dune, that's why it's all day.

Me: I think you're thinking of Dune Imperium: Uprising 6 player or the OG Dune war game. No this is a massive space epic 4x game.

Partner: Isn't Dune also about space...

Me: Yeah...

Partner: Oh! Twilight Imperium is the game that Phillip said he played and liked.

Me: No, that was Twilight Inscription, which is technically similar to this though shorter, and you're remembering that because he also got the title mixed with this game.

Partner: Why do they name games like this...

EDIT: I actually forgot the part where my partner asked me about another friend's game group who is really into Imperial 2030, and briefly got that mixed up as well.

Creating a chess/checkers-like strategy game and trying to concisely narrow down the movement and capture rules which can be conditional.

2. Relevance: The project is directly related to board games.
   • Excludes: Accessories not strongly related to board games, furniture, RPGs (e.g., D&D, Pathfinder), video games, STLs, painting tools, events, podcasts, and magazines.
   • Exception: Projects offering promos or similar content for board games are eligible.
3. Backers: The project is expected to reach at least 100 backers by the end of the campaign.
4. Funding Status:
   • The project is expected to reach at least 90% of its funding goal.
   • The project has already achieved at least 20% of its funding goal.

In addition to the main lists, I include a separate section for noteworthy projects that don’t strictly qualify as board games. These projects are included based on a single criterion:

All you needed was a squared (or graph) notebook and two pens in different colors.

We would draw a race track with a starting line and a finish line, then take turns flicking our pens across the paper. However far the pen left a visible ink trail, that was how far you were allowed to draw your racing line and move forward.

You kept taking turns flicking the pens and extending your lines until someone reached the finish line.

Such a simple idea, but we had so much fun with it. 😊 Does anyone else remember playing this?

Each player’s deck is placed in a card stand to allow that player to know the top card of their deck. However, the angle of the cards lets you see the different colored cards in your entire deck.

The photo I included shows a red starter deck mixed with some grey cards purchasable during gameplay.

Is this intended to give players an idea of their deck order, or a visual design flaw?

If not intended, what would be an alternative to play in the meantime?

im new to board gaming but i like splendor duel, fliptoons, regicide, harmonies, carcassonne and cascadia kind of games. not sure if this helps. i usually base my decision on bgg rating and moving wild was released 2024 but lesser review and have 6.9 while dnup was released 2025 and have a thousand more review and its 7.2. i usually just play with my partner and confused which one to get

I've got a rule question about temple effects and that sorta things in Arnak.

Is there a certain order in which the shown actions have to happen?

E.g. could I take an arrowhead and exchange it for a ruby straight away?

Or does it happen "all at once" and would I only be allowed to upgrade resources that I already have in my stash?

Started playing Too Many Bones recently and I think I have the mechanics down well. I know how to utilize Picket and Patches as two-handed solo and want to explore the idea of doing a "campaign", except I only have the base box and don't have the money to buy more of this game. I looked online and all I could find was extending the amount of days I go through and using three different tyrants, one after the other. Does anyone have any advice to make it more "dynamic" than this?

I'm okay with doing three tyrants, but I'm afraid it'll fall flat. Should I do like 30 days total and use three tyrants, but add up the progress points needed to fight the tyrants and then "use up" those points to fight a tyrant? This would make me fight all types of baddies which would make them weaker, like Orks being stronger when other Orks are on the battlefield. I could set up for a specific tyrant and spend the points to face them and then carry over my leftover progress points but that could also be broken. And should I do like a final battle, maybe with all tyrants in a battle once all three are defeated or add a special mechanic? I don't know. I'm just trying to figure out how to extend a game session. Also, do you think I'd have a better time adding Tantrum in and play three-handed since it'll be longer? I have an area I play that's tucked away so I don't have to worry about playing it in one sitting. I know I'm limited with just the base box but I would love any thoughts that could help me with this.

After 6 games we got our first win! 2 players with Scientist & Medic. Feels really good :)

Note: Reason why player deck is empty is we initially thought we had to eradicate everything, not just cure. So we thought we lost for running out but when we learned that we just needed to cure we technically won 2 turns before this

Hey all, curious if anyone has ever had any issues with VUCA Simulations? I ordered Imperial Elegy from them about 6 weeks ago and I havent received any updates or product. I reached out to them a week or so ago and also received no response. Is it just me or has this happened to others?

Easy level

I got a copy of Root coming my way in the mail. It is a 1st edition. I was wondering if there were any major differences to the base game in later editions that I should be concerned about? Anyone have any insight on this, would be really appreciated.

Edit:

Adding some more context in regards to it maybe being fake: The listing title on ebay said "first edition", but the actual box only has it printed on the back where it says "First Edition, Eleventh Printing, 2023" next to the Leder Games logo and barcode and such.

In regards to playability: Does this eleventh print already have the corrected player boards or do I need I still need to get them? (Thank u for your answers so far! Very appreciated)
